I have experienced many situations and endured a multitude of experiences throughout my life. It is through these experiences that I have been able to learn a great deal about myself. Since I was young, I have always set astronomically high goals and expectations for myself. This was largely in part due to the strong upbringing from my parents, who taught me what is right and wrong, and instilled very strong personal values, along with a continued ideal of community service. These values helped forge me into who I am today. Besides family values, my background begins when I first joined the Boy Scouts of America. There I was taught what it means to adhere to a motto and properly wear a uniform. Although this was the simplest form of a uniform, …show more content…
The FFA offers many unique experiences, ranging from livestock judging to speech competitions. It was during these speech competitions that I overcame my fear of public speaking and developed my strong communication skills. I was also able to pursue my passion of raising pigs for 6 years. My final experience is the time I have spent in Civil Air Patrol. Between raising pigs and being in Civil Air Patrol, I learned a myriad of skills: responsibility, confidence, and time management, to name a few. Being in the Civil Air Patrol, I have promoted to the rank of Cadet 2nd Lieutenant, becoming a cadet officer and earning my Billy Mitchell Award. I was also awarded the role of Cadet Commander at my home squadron. With the honor of being Cadet Commander came a multitude of difficulties and responsibilities, such as caring for my cadets and adapting to their different learning …show more content…
Besides weekly meeting, my time in Civil Air Patrol was spent at state and nation-wide events. I attended numerous leadership schools here in California, along with a national robotics school near Los Angeles - at which I was voted Honor Cadet. My greatest achievement in C.A.P. so far was graduating from Hawk Mountain Ranger School, located in Kempton,
This position enabled me to liaise with H&HS Squadron MCAS Miramar FRO frequently where I learned a great deal. While serving in this position I was able to volunteer to

I became an FFA Officer at the be of my sophomore year. It happened like this. It was the day of our chapter FFA banquet, the banquet had began, people started filling in and I started to get so nervous. It was in the commons or lunch room of our high school. This was my first ever FFA banquet, besides our area one.
My first time I attended Camp K I was in 8th grade. I saw what the officers contributed to the members, the relationships they had with one another and the impact they put upon me, I knew i wanted to become a HOSA Florida State officer! By continuing my HOSA membership through my senior year of high school and becoming a regional and club officer I knew I wanted to end my senior year strong and become a state officer. By being a past club and regional officer I believe I have all the attributes to become a state officer and can contribute a substantial amount of contributions.
My father died when I was only 11 years old, after which I entered West Point Military School. After West Point Military School I graduated second in my class in cavalry, artillery, and infantry. Afterwards I was appointed to Lieutenant Colonel of the second cavalry then suppressed John Brown’s insurrection. Then not long after I was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the first calvary.
In my life, much has shaped me to be the person that I am today. For example, I am bullied and have been for many years. I kept it to myself and let it grow worse. Then, last year I found a teacher that I felt I could trust and told this teacher everything that had and was still happening.
and again I went to summer camp but this time I could only go to one because JCLC collided with the date of COLP and in my opinion COLP is the better camp if you want to learn how to be an officer and I was placed in a position of “Senior Ops” so I was assigning the duties of the day to the other operation officers
I was able to gain a different prospective from other branches of the military and how they
Since I was ten years old, I have been a member of the Young Marines, a program dedicated to the enrichment of youth. Aside from my family and school, this organization has had an incredible impact on my life, not only providing me with many unique and amazing experiences, but by shaping the foundation of my character by instilling in me the three core principles of the Young Marines: Discipline, Leadership, and Teamwork and also by emphasizing the importance of community service. I have had many amazing and unique experiences as a Young Marine which included the challenges of promotion to become the senior ranking officer, learning many new skills such as CPR, teaching Drug Demand Reduction, leading and mentoring the members of the Unit, going on encampments and traveling. In my sophomore year, my Unit Commander, a Korean War veteran, selected me to travel with him to Seoul. Every few years he chooses a Young Marine to take to South Korea based on merit.
I started attending Fork Union Military Academy in the sixth grade and have stayed throughout my entire high school career. To me, this in itself is a large accomplishment and is something I am very proud of. Every cadet goes through many ups and downs, I know in my seven years I have seen more than my fair share of trouble, but like my father always said, it 's not how you fall, but how you pick yourself back up. I made sure to do everything I could to show those around me, and to prove to myself, that I could pick myself up and accomplish anything. I faced and continue to face many different challenges in my daily life, those that every teenager faces, and also those that have been presented to me because of the kind of environment I placed myself in.
Chances are you’ve read hundreds of personal stories yourself and have probably heard it all. My past and background have shaped who I am as an individual, but what’s more important is what I do now and in the future. There’s a lot that can be done to make the world a better place, and I intend on using my future to accomplish this.
What I have learned from experience and how it impacted me First and foremost, being in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years I have learned a lot from experience. I learned just like in the military, in my civilian job now I am always on duty.

Since sixth grade, the Boy Scouts of America, specifically Troop 39 in Burlington, has played a large role in my personal development and growth. I started at the bottom of the totem pole, and worked my way to the top through years of hard work and dedication to finally reach my childhood goal of being an Eagle Scout. This journey through scouting, and my achieving in attaining this rank, also represents my transition in my life from childhood to adulthood, within both my family and community. As I grew as a scout, I also grew as a person; and although my being an Eagle Scout marked an end to my scouting career, it also marked the beginning to my life as an adult. As an Eagle Scout, I 've learned many skills that proved to be useful in scouting, but also in life as well.
I will always push myself to seek an opening to better myself despite all odds and negativity to be the best me I could ever be even if I mess up along the way I know it’s only more lessons to be learned. You should never stop learning and improve yourself because even if you don’t try just know you will always learn something new every day, education is endless. I will forever remain hopeful and humble because of what I personally have been through and have witnessed growing up. I have now learned I am not average I am me and there is nothing else I would rather
