A part from the war on poverty, President Johnson started another program called ‘The Great Society’’. This was a program that allow all the American kids get the opportunity to knowledge. Because they had no skills, they were unable to find jobs. This led Johnson to create the Economic Opportunity Act in 1964. This act established programs such as the Neighborhood Youth Corps and the Job corps. Both programs did a lot to help young adults gain the proper skill sets to obtain employment. Health care was also a major issue for citizens.

Children who grow up in poverty are faced with a series of issues which impact their education and social atmosphere. In both the school and home setting these children lack the proper resources which they need to succeed academically. Across the country, people have begun creating programs which aim to help children in poverty succeed, despite their socioeconomic status. These programs range from after-school reading, tutoring services, charter schools, and free summer programs. All of these programs provide children with extra academic help which they may not be receiving in school or at home.

Key Stakeholders Children are key stakeholders in the Head Start Program. The Head Start program helps children in several ways. For example, children learn their basics in education; children also learn socialization skills by interacting with other children within his/her own age group (Castro, Bryant, Peisner-Feinberg & Skinner, 2004). The Head Start Program fosters a set of values to support the overall goal of improving social competence within the family unit and its environment. Single parents are also key stakeholders in the Head Start Program, because they utilize the program to meet child care needs and their children’s educational needs.

We create a positive and secure environment, working to ensure all children feel safe, appreciated and important. We do this by being inclusive, treating each child as an individual and promoting mutual respect. One of the most natural factors of being an Early Years Practitioner is nurturing the children in our care, this is salient in creating healthy attachments in children. We show this by using positive body language when interacting with children, we show them we are interested to help develop their sense of attachment and security. Some of these programs are; headstart which provided poorer families with education, medicare which provided healthcare to the elderly, and Medicaid which provided healthcare for the less fortunate. These programs also required the government to be very present in America’s economy and society. Johnson strongly believed that the government should use its power in order to promote such programs to create a better and more equal life in the United States. He also increased funding for education and social welfare programs. Johnson believed that government intervention was necessary to address the inequalities and injustices that existed in American society.

The Head Start program is a free preschool for low income families who are disadvantaged. The Head Start program is in question in regards to its success in preparing children for future school success. In the article titled “How should we Interpret the Evidence about Head Start?” by Janet Currie claims “It is one of the most successful known interventions for poor children”. She claims Head Start is associated with being low quality, however, there are positive results that are surprising to the skeptics. She continues to argue that Head Start is operating at a local level and are held at high standards.

In an early years setting their a variety of different children that have certain needs that need to be met in order for them to be healthy, safe, secure and welcomed into the setting. Therefore if a child had a problem which led to them being in need of a wheelchair constantly while in the setting. Then their needs would have to be met in a variety of ways for example someone needing to push the child to get around the nursery correctly, having support to complete tasks, someone holding the doors open to allow the child to join in outdoor activities and finally helping the child to get ready into the correct wear for example if they need a coat on to go outside. Although when doing activities for example outdoor play and learning how to catch and throw the ball over the parachute.

Introduction In early childhood education, it is important for teachers to always consider and understand children and the families’ needs. Early childhood teachers cannot only work with their colleagues to face children and the families’ needs but also need to work with multi-disciplinary to collaborate the ideas with each other and discuss the best outcome for the children and the families in early childhood education setting together. So, the more explanation about the multi-disciplinary team is that teachers with different professionals such as psychologists, child social worker, police, adult social worker, health visitor or court working together to provide different services and support for children and the families’ needs. They are diverse professional groups who work together in order to collaborate, reflect, access and support children’s development, health and learning and also families' needs.
