Erectile dysfunction is a disease where a male my not be able to get or keep an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction, also known as ED, is impotence. It may develop gradually or abruptly. Men who have lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are at risk for having ED. ED is more so said to come with age, but may also be caused by stress, anxiety, relationship problems, drug use, smoking, drinking alcohol, trauma to the penis or scrotum, cancer, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) may also cause a male to develop ED. BPH may cause the urethra to become squeezed or partly blocked and can make it difficult to mictrate . Benign prostatic hyperplasia is very common as men age. BPH is not a serious condition but can just be very annoying to deal with. In few cases, BPH may block the bladder making almost impossible to mictrate and it can cause bladder infections or kidney damage. To help with the symptoms of BPG, some home remedies would be to avoid caffeine, practice double urination, and avoid taking any medications that may make it hard to urinate. Then there are about fifteen to twenty-five percent of men in their sixties have ED. There are about ten to twenty million men, with thirty million being on the high side, who are affected by some form of erectile dysfunction either being fully affected or partially. Only thirty percent of men seek attention for ED due to being embarrassed about the situation or just not thinking that their condition is bad enough to be seen by a doctor. For the men who fail to have an erection less than twenty percent of the time, is usually normal and no treatment is needed; however, if a male cannot become erect fifty percent or more of the time then there could be an underlying problem and treatment should be sought
