Night by Elie Wiesel is a memoir about his experience as a victim of the Holocaust. Elie was moved to a Jewish ghetto when he was young and then transported to Auschwitz. During his experience in the Holocaust, Elie gives up on himself and his religious beliefs. In the memoir Night, a central idea about how it is easy to lose faith in times of despair and darkness is shown through imagery and dramatic irony. Elie uses imagery when Elie arrives at the camp and he and the other Jews are split up into different groups and are forced to line up and go into a flaming pit.
