1. CONTEXTUALISATION OF CASE (PASSION LILIE):

There is an increased need for conspicuous consumption of fast fashion to slow down, especially in today’s context where there are massive concerns about global climate, ecological issues, shortage of energy sources and ethical manufacturers. Technology has opened up possibilities for us to change the way we design and shop for clothing through sustainable fashion, .by increasing system efficiencies, reducing product and waste flow, and using a combination of the two (Hethorn & Ulasewicz 2008: 95-101).
It is only recently that fashion and textile industries have become increasingly aware of sustainability issues. Sustainable designs and initiatives have been highlighted at various fashion weeks across the world, with Armani and Zegna leading the way and including design house such as Linda Loudermilk, Edun and Loomstate (Hethorn & Ulasewicz 2008: 82). According to Sandy Black (2011:17), eco-fashion is founded on linking environmental and moral principles with innovative ideas and a highly aesthetic design. Large high-street chain stores and international brands such as GAP, Nike and M&S were accused of unethical practices in clothing and footwear production in the past, but are now implementing the requirements to find their way to ethical and environmental answers in an attempt to reverse …show more content…

A semi structured interview is a hybrid between a structured and an unstructured interview. There will be a structured section to the interview, wherein specific information will be required from respondents, and a large part of the interview will be directed by a list of questions to be explored (Merriam, Sharan B. 2014: 90). The interview method chosen is best suited for this case study because it provides empirical data (Wahyuni D. 2012: 74).
