Driscoll Model Of Reflection Analysis

This essay is going to reflect on my own management and leadership style in delivering patient care. It will discuss the effectiveness of the other leadership and management style within the multi-disciplinary team and its impact on delivering patient care. I will use as an example, my previous experience back home as a nurse and compare it to my current experience in the United Kingdom (UK). This will show my strength and weakness as well as my new learning skills, which have changed my practice. I will be using Driscoll model of reflection (2007) to guide my thought and refine my ideas.

Driscoll (2000) model) consists of three stages (What, So what & Now what) completing one cycle help me to improve my caring practice continuously and learning from those experience for better practice in the future. The cycle starts with a description of the situation (“What”), which include analysis of the incident. “So what” evaluate the experience, including the analysis to make sense of the experience, and the final stage “Now what” is a conclusion of what else could I have done better and an action plan to prepare for, if the similar situation arose again. If she had switched from cigarettes to a harmless vaporizer like many others she wouldn 't be in such a predicament that could cost her to lose her life and abandon her family so soon. Vaping’s positive impact on society has reduced the number amount of health issues of former smokers across America and has become a more mainstream version of “smoking”; it has caused so much controversy with vaping in public places and influencing the younger generation to start smoking and vaping but has saved the lives of many.

A. OBJECTIVE AND THEORETICAL BACKGROUND In this individual reflective report, I will discuss how the Consulting Project course gave me opportunities to experience, explore and evaluate the real-life business case, how it strengthen my practical business knowledge, problem solving and leadership skills, and how the learning process will support my personal development goals. Introduction: Reflection is a part of daily process of learning and thinking. As stated by Jasper, (2003), the reflection is “…the way that we learn from an experience in order to understand and develop practice”. It is useful in dealing with challenges and can be used as a tool for personal and professional development. Moreover, a convoluted process of writing experiences and learning from any event and understanding of its usefulness in future is, defined as Reflective writing. The theoretical model which is often used as a framework for reflective writing was created by Professor Graham Gibbs (1988) and is known as Gibb’s reflective cycle.

Throughout my power point presentation I found some strengths and some weaknesses I will improve on in the future. Making sure the audience understand the main topic of the presentation is important. When I started my presentation I first introduced the audience to the topic and gave some background information. To make sure that everyone understands what celiac disease is I gave information about the disease so that the audience can have basic knowledge about what gluten is. On the other hand I also found a few issues I can and will improve on in presentation to come.

Introduction In this reflective essay I will reflect upon the course based on the assignments and projects I have accomplished this semester.
