The Bonnie and Clyde ballet was excellent. It was performed at the Dorothy Jemison Theater. The theater had elevated seats so everyone could see the stage which is helpful. At first I was kind of confused with what was going in the play, but after reading the program book where they described the scenes. This helped me understand the ballet and the meaning behind it. The ballet included elements to enhance the ballet. These elements included sound, video, and props. The Bonnie and Clyde ballet was great because it stayed with the time period. The set design, music, video, and lighting fit in the time period. It made the ballet of Bonnie and Clyde more believable. The music was jazz music which was popular during the 1920’s and 1930’s. The video help set the atmosphere because it set up the setting. Some examples would include when the stock market crashed they showed a video of how life was like during that time. It was also ironic that the ballet happened on October 29 the same day when the stock market crashed. This helps set up the next scene. Another example would include when Clyde goes to jail for the first time. They show a video of people getting arrested back then and what life was like in prison in that time period. Then it shows the guys dancing and breaking rocks just like the video. The video also helped showed how notorious the Barrow Gang was in their time period. It showed how dangerous they were and how popular. I also liked how the video show their pictures and how the dancers recreated the photoshoot. In the original photoshoot the dancers tried to actually match their clothing styles. It showed how popular they were with the American population. They showed original newspapers of them and their actual pictures. I liked that because it showed that the ballet stuck to the story of Bonnie and …show more content…
Some props they used as a part of their dances. An example would include when Clyde is in prison and they used the hammers to dance with them. They also used the cell door as a prop to add to their dancing. Clyde and Bonnie used the cell door in their dance number. Bonnie used the cell to help her jump across or she would slide down the cell door. The chain gang numbered showed how the dancers how to dance as one because they were chained as one. I thought that dance scene was really great. Also the car that Bonnie and Clyde stole was a prop they used in the ballet to dance with. At the end when Bonnie and Clyde were on the run from the police they perform a dance where they use the car to help them dance. The Bonnie and Clyde ballet performance was excellent because they had different elements to help you feel like you were in that time period. Some of the elements that stood out that were really good where the music, the videos, and the props. I think the Alabama Ballet did a great job of turning Bonnie and Clyde into a ballet. At first I did not think that it was going to be good, but they stuck to the story and the dancing was easily to follow the
When the second quarter ended, they waited while technicians set up the stage and sound props. This soon ended and Cassi and the other performers stepped onto the field in front of thousands. Cassi’s nerves switched into excitement as she looked at the crowd. It was sunny and beautiful and she loved to perform. This kind of performance, dancing, was what she was good at.
Balanchine’s ballet is exactly what we think of when we think ballet, and all the girls where long blue tutus, point shoes and dance with extreme poise and
Frank Ford C. also did a good job with the plot of the story and bringing it to life. My favorite parts were the fight at the beginning, the rumble, and when Dally gets shot. I enjoyed these parts for the action, not the violence. Especially since Dally was my favorite character. The only thing I didn’t like about the movie was the music.
Point your toes, lift your head, extend your arms, and complete thirty-two perfect signature eye-high kicks alongside forty other girls who have become my family. These same kicks that have been seamlessly executed by the Rockettes in Radio City Music Hall since 1932. The bright lights shining down blind me as I take my first steps on the gigantic stage that would soon become home to an experience that would strengthen my passion for dance. As the music begins muscle memory takes over and I perfectly execute the many sharp movements and precise head placements that have been my entire life for the last week.
I truly thought that this performance was incredible. My grandpa(he went and watched the musical with me) thought the performance was too good to be a high school play. I would’ve agreed with him except I already knew how talented our performers are. Besides the amazing talent, another incredible thing stood out to me. The set was absolutely amazing.
The TR stock footage was very interesting to watch. First off, I loved hearing the old reporter voice and old time-y music. Also, the footage of the Rough Riders was pretty neat. When the narrator voice said he “forsaw the struggle
They effectively presented this idea through the use of various film techniques such as lighting, music/sound, and camera angles/shot selection. The film adaptation is both effective in its delivery of the message but also in its maintaining of the original essence of the
“[My dance instructor] Cindy believed that ballet was richer when it embraced diverse shapes and cultures. There would be times in my career when I would struggle to remember that, but I would eventually come back to that conviction, that the stage on which I performed was brighter for having me, even if some in the audience or dancing beside didn 't always agree” (“Misty Copeland
The power of jazz dance would have never influence so many people today with the famous American dancer, Jack Cole. Jack Cole was mainly known as the “Father of Jazz Dance” and had a unique style of movement that he portrayed in a variety of commercial setting. Jack Cole was not only known as a mentor to many dancers throughout the world but also as an innovator of dance movement and a filmmaker who connected the relationship of the camera and dance together. Jack Cole was given the name of “The Father of Dance” because he has created a genre of dance that has a mixture of modern, ethnic, ballet into a movement language as we know as theatrical jazz dance. Without Cole’s inspiration jazz dance would have never been born.
When seeing this film it felt as though this was right on target genuine occasions with no misunderstandings, since this is the manner by which life really is outside of the cameras and television and creations. When watching this I 'd feel these characters were really i gangs whether they were young or not they had the correct role. Likewise making it all the more realistic was knowing how gangs function and go around from individual encounters in my own life, it gives a more inside and out visual from what I saw growing up through my childhood. I would now be able to state that I have a view from outside and I now know what definitely is going on behind the walls. This film had an effect on myself since I have been included and have an view of how individuals talk and act with each other and when they are with certain individuals.
In the beginning of the movie they presented us with the heroic victims of the Alamo lying dead. This scene sparked off a depressing atmosphere. During the movie, there was a mix of emotions; growing tension and an overwhelming feeling of victory merged into one. The movie was very compelling and was utmost intriguing.
This serves as an example in which he idolizes the normally unideal aspects of a community, as the team embraces the association they have with being drug users and make a joke of it in order to make it their own. Also, seeing the gang fights as a source of entertainment shows how he is normalizing this way of life that would be out of
She didn 't like dance until she was in a hard, challenging class. The Nutcracker and Swan Lake are some of the most popular Russian ballet stories. Ballet is a production that uses dance, music, and scenery to tell a story or create a mood. Dancers move their bodies in order to express emotion or tell stories.
The romantic ballet reminds me of beautiful dreams. The performance is usually inspired by fairies and ghost and other fantasy creatures (not always though). Their
It’s focused on the people how they don’t have alot of money .They go to a poor school and they black . since they didn’t have alot of money people thought they wasn’t go go that far in the big event . The six things that impressed me is how they was playing the tools when they had duhtape on them.
