How you ever wondered who the biggest influence on Romeo and Juliet’s death was? I think this is a question that everyone thinks of while reading the play. William Shakespeare wrote a very well-known play which is called “Romeo and Juliet”. This play is about two young teenagers who fall in love at first sight, but they aren’t compatible. They have an ancient family feud between their families which causes them to go through many obstacles. They were crazy in love until the point they died for each other. Friar Laurence is the biggest influence on Romeo and Juliet’s death because he was the only adult confidant Romeo had in his life and he is the one to make a secret plan which leads them to die by suicide. Friar says “Hold, daughter, I do spy a kind of hope,” (4-1-68) This quote Friar Laurence is talking about how drinking a potion and faking her death will give her hope not to marry Paris. Why would Friar Laurence consider giving Juliet a potion to fake her death? Her death will cause people to mourn her fake death. That is where Friar should have crossed the line about how far things can get in this situation. Also, he knew that Juliet was suicidal because that’s what she’s saying half of the play. Friar Laurence could’ve planned something else rather than suggesting faking her death. To save everyone from trouble including himself as well. Douglas Dupler states on page 6 that “...the friar devises a secretive plan that goes wrong and leads to the death of the young lovers. "Friar Laurence’s plan continues to fail after Juliet’s death. Romeo did not receive his letters from Friar Laurence so therefore he was not aware of this plan. Romeo, acting impulsively as the reckless teenager he is, goes to Verona to die and be by her side. Romeo does end up dead by Juliet but also kills Paris in the process. After Juliet wakes up, she sees Romeo dead by her side. Friar Laurence panics as soon as he gets to the tomb and leaves Juliet alone. This was another mistake Friar made because he knows about how Romeo and Juliet …show more content…
People may believe this because Lord Capulet was the biggest influence to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. People believe he is because he wouldn’t have accepted that Juliet loves Romeo if Juliet were to tell her father about this. Lord Capulet may not have accepted this because of their ancient family feud. If there were no feud between their families, Lord Capulet would have accepted their love for each other. Another reason why Lord Capulet may have been the biggest influence on their death is how he forced Juliet to marry Paris even though knowing that Juliet refused. If Lord Capulet were not forced Juliet to marry Paris, she would not have faked her death and made her wedding into a funeral. Although with all this information on how Lord Capulet was the biggest influence on Romeo and Juliet’s death, he was not the biggest influence. Friar Laurence was the biggest influence on their deaths. Friar should have been the one to tell them this isn’t right as the trusted adult in this situation. Juliet did not know what to do when she was going to marry Paris because she was already married and in love with Romeo. She decided to confide in Friar Laurence, and he was the one who suggested faking her death to avoid marrying Paris. Friar Laurence was also one to keep all these secrets to himself about how he married two immature teenagers and did not tell their parents. Therefore, all

Friar Laurence leaves to save himself and leaves Juliet while she is suicidal. Friar Laurence created this dangerous plan that went wrong and it ended with Romeo, Juliet, and Paris dead. He gave Juliet, a suicidal and unstable fourteen year old girl, a potion to make her appear dead simply because she did not want to marry Paris. Had he simply taken her to Mantua instead of giving her the potion she would have never been put in the situation to kill herself. Friar Laurence displays his irresponsibility when he gives Juliet the vial saying, “if...thou hast the strength of will to slay thyself...take thou this vial... no warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest.” (IV,I,72,93,98).
It might have been Lord Capulet who caused their death, Mercutio, or even Fate itself. However, Romeo's abruptness with his "Heart's dear love," and their love life caused an excess of distress(2.3.57). However, Friar Laurence agreed to break the rules and intentionally marry Romeo and Juliet secretly. Their life was between Friar Laurence's hands, and he failed to keep their lives a grasp, causing the most mayhem in their so told true love. Conflicting with all the rules he set for others, without acknowledging the regulations he should have set for
Firstly, Friar Laurence is the person who is most to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he gave both of them bad advice. He told Romeo to visit Juliet’s room on the day he was banished because he was lovesick for her, even though Friar Laurence knew it could end in death for Romeo. “Friar Laurence: Take thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilled liquor drink thou off” (Shakespeare,
Friar Laurence is overstepping a boundary and doing what he thinks is best in this situation. Later on he Friar tries to cover up his actions and only makes things worse for Romeo and Juliet. There are flaws in the Friar’s plan and if he had just turned Romeo and Juliet down they would not have to be put in a position where their lives were in danger or where they would feel like their only solution was to kill
Friar Laurence had many opportunities to tell Juliet's parents but never did. Even when Juliet's dad spoke to Friar Laurence about marrying Paris and Juliet, Friar Laurence still stayed quiet. Supposedly, Friar Laurence was protecting his job, as if Juliet's father found out about the secret marriage he may execute Friar Laurence. When Paris, Juliet and Friar Laurence are talking about the marriage once Paris leaves, Juliet threatens to kill herself if Friar Laurence does not find a way to stop the marriage.
Romeos and Juliets Death Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play about two love-struck teens that eventually falls in love. There are several reasons why Lord Capulet is to be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. His decision to force Juliet to get married, his contribution of the family feud, and his decision to change the day of the marriage. The main reason I think Lord Capulet is to blame is because he forced Juliet to get married. Him forcing Juliet to get married only left Juliet two choices and that was to either run away or get married, and of course we all know that her getting marred to anyone but Romeo wasn't an option. If he had never forced her to getting married then she would not have done what she did.
The most responsible character for Romeo and Juliet's deaths was Friar Laurence because he didn’t even really care about the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. He made many plans for their relationship. However it didn’t work out because of his mistakes and selfishness for marrying Romeo and Juliet quickly and it ended in a dire way. Friar Lawrence left Juliet alone in the tomb, which directly led to her death. “Come,
There are numerous clues and small details that point to Lord Capulet and Friar Laurence being accountable for the Romeo and Juliet’s death. Lord Capulet forced his daughter into marrying Paris, though she strongly dissents the idea. After she finally “agrees”, He is so thrilled that he moves up the wedding, ruining the plan. Friar Laurence is guilty due to him coming up with a cumbersome plan and leaving Juliet alone, to save himself from the watch. In Conclusion, Lord Capulet and Friar Laurence are responsible for the loss of Romeo and
The Capulets and Montagues would punish Friar Laurence because he unrightfully married them and since the two families are enemies it might’ve made the situation even worse. After Romeo gets exiled out of Verona for killing Tybalt, Juliet goes to Friar Laurence to seek help from him in finding Romeo. From there, the Friar makes up a whole plan. This plan includes Juliet drinking a potion to fake her death which will prevent her from marrying Paris. He gave Juliet a potion that made her look dead, he did this knowing there could be complications like Juliet might not wake up and get buried alive.
Lord Capulet is the one that threw the party where Romeo met Juliet. Lord Capulet should have had Juliet meet Paris in private where they could only fall in love with each other. If Lord Capulet had let his daughter remain unmarried, then Paris would not have been involved at all. If Capulet had let Juliet find love on her own, then Paris would not have died. Lord Capulet refused to pay attention to Juliet when she said that she did not want to marry Paris, so Juliet felt the need to fake her own death in order to be with Romeo, this led to Juliet being in the tomb where Paris went to visit her, met Romeo, and was killed.
