Regular physical exercise and activity can reduce the risk of a lot of conditions and diseases and would benefit an individual in the long run. It could reduce the risk of conditions like heart diseases, some types of cancer, obesity, weakened immune system and so on. Good physical activity reduces the risk of dying prematurely, developing diabetes, and developing high blood pressure. It helps to build and maintain healthy weights, bones, joints, muscles. It also reduces the chances of depression. Middle aged adults consist of adults from the ages 36-55 years. One of the health issues that regular physical exercise and activity can help prevent is diabetes. The population of people living with diabetes these days is outrageous. The number of middle aged adults with diabetes is expected to rise from 171 million in the year 2000 to 366 million in the year 2030. These numbers are expected to be doubled in urban populations (ADA, 2012). Diabetes is more common in men than women but there are more of the women than men that have diabetes. It is the number one cause of death in individuals related with high blood pressure. Hypertension stresses an individual’s blood vessels, allowing them to deteriorate or clog. As an individual gets older, the blood pressure becomes a more important factor to consider in the risk of cardiovascular disease.
