Topographic Factors The elevation of Delta Natural Reserve is 5m and SWMA is 3m (Vancouver International Airport). The elevation of Watershed park on the other hand is 64m. As the elevation increases, there are fewer species and less dense coverage of the area because of the colder conditions, however, this is not a key factor in the difference in vegetation as the areas are within a 5 minutes drive from each other.
Delta Nature Reserve and SWMA were flatter in comparison to Watershed Park, as this park was located at a definite angle. Steeper slopes generally have thinner soils, less water content and are less acidic. The angle can affect the pH levels of the soil and the drainage levels and affect the types of vegetation growing. The
The case of Richard New and Lake Cumberland Funeral Home v. Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky Board of Embalmers; Commonwealth of Kentucky, Funeral Director is an appeal and cross-appeal of a previous case heard by Franklin Circuit Court. The case was tried in the Commonwealth of Kentucky Court of Appeals. It stems from sanctions by the Kentucky Board of Embalmers (the Board) against Richard New (New) and Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (Lake Cumberland) for allowing unlicensed employees to perform embalming services including signing death certificates. The previous hearing by the Franklin Court found that the Board could sanction New and Lake Cumberland for allowing unlicensed employees to perform embalming services and could assign fines related
Just after 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to The Outlets at Zion parking lot, 250 N. Red Cliffs Drive, in St. George on reports of an assault, according to a probable cause statement filed by the St. George Police Department in support of the arrest. When officers arrived, they spoke with 18-year-old John Thomas Dorosky, of Leeds. “John told me he intentionally backed into a vehicle on Red Cliffs Dr., in a travel lane,” the arresting officer wrote in the statement.
Forest Acres is a community located in Richland County of Columbia, South Carolina. It is a community that was incorporated in the year 1935 near the waters of Dent’s Pond, now known as Forest Lake, due to John Hughes Cooper and James Henry Hammond both having real estate interests in the area. After Cooper purchased Dent’s Pond (Forest Lake) and 1,700 acres of land, Hammond purchased 67 acres from Cooper on Quinine Hill; developing it into a suburban area for local businessmen who worked in the downtown area. In order for Cooper and Hammond to name this location, a petition was signed by residents; voting on whether to name the area Forest Acres or Quinine Hill. As a result, the name Forest Acres won majority votes; making it the official
Freshwater is also looked at as floodplain management is observed. The patterns of environmental quality are also examined. My hypothesis is that pH levels and drainage account for the significant differences in vegetation between the areas. This is because both drainage and pH levels play a role in what type of soil is available. The pH level determines the types of plants that grow and the drainage effects the type of soil present, which influences the
Lab Write-Up The Sacramento River, a meandering river located in Northern California, appears to have changed significantly from 1998 to present day. The winding curves of the river were much more pronounced and dramatic until erosion and decomposition affected the sediment amount in the river, changing its shape. As it flows, it deposits sediment on banks that lie on the insides of curves (point bar deposits), and erode the banks on the outside of curves. The low, crescent-shaped deposit of sediment on the inside of a meander is a point bar, which is spotted several times in the river. It is a feature of erosion that shapes the river into its current form.
Wadada Leo Smith, an intellectually gritty and lyrically stunning trumpeter/composer, releases a double CD stuffed with highly-articulated music that envisions to provide historic insight and socio-political conscience about the America’s National Parks. Similar to what had happened in “The Great Lake Suites” (2014), each disc is composed of three movements. However, the band Wadada enlisted for this project was an expansion of his dream-team of veterans known as The Golden Quartet (Anthony Davis on piano, John Lindberg on bass, and Pheeroan AkLaff on drums), with the acquisition of the young cellist Ashley Walters, who adds a chamberesque texture and diversified colors to the organic divagations. “New Orleans” is an incredible 20-minute piece that
Orcas Island is the Depending on whom you ask, is shaped like a pair of saddlebags or a horse-shoe, and is a majestic blend of breathtaking shoreline, gin-blue lakes, towering mountain peak, hilly landscape, dense forest, and charming hamlets and villages. Referred to by locals as the "Gem of the San Juans," the 57-square mile island-dotted sea is located in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and is a display of pristine natural beauty. This quiet and relaxed piece of paradise is the gem that is partly because of places like, Orcas Village, West Sound, Deer Harbor, Eastsound, Olga and Doe Bay. The name Orcas is derived from Horcasitas, the shortened form of the name Juan Vicente de Güemes Pacheco de Padilla y Horcasitas, segundo conde
Santana Janis was by no means an atypical young teenager. Others described her as a “bright [and] outgoing” girl who liked horseback riding. Her community’s characteristics, however, were very different from that of a typical American town. The median household income in her hometown, Manderson, South Dakota, is less than half the U.S. average, and almost four-fifths of the town’s population live below the poverty line. This dysfunction affected Santana: she lived with as many as a dozen siblings and her grandfather in a dilapidated trailer.

I drove out to Death Valley National Park. It was declared a national park on February of 1933. Death Valley is a very hot and arid place at this time of year. The park is part of eastern California and Nevada. The northwest of the Mojave Desert is protected by it.
Statement of intent I intend to make a modern responsive website to promote Yosemite national park. This website is intended for people with a general interest in the park. The website that is created should use a simple colour palette and should be simple to navigate single scroll website. Research One source of inspiration for my website is the original Yosemite national park website (https://ww w.nps.gov/yose/index.htm).

How Healthy is the Conodoguinet Creek? Member of Enola Community: I have conducted an experiment on whether the Conodoguinet Creek is either polluted or healthy. The Conodoguinet Creek can get polluted by livestock. The livestock could possibly use the creek as a water source or as a restroom.
