Martin Luther King Jr. According to dictionary.com the definition of nonviolence is “ the policy, practice, or technique of refraining from the use of violence, especially when reacting to or protesting against oppression, injustice, discrimination, or the like.” (dictionary.com) Throughout the years of human history, people have used nonviolence to solve problems in their lives. Activists like Mahatma Gandhi, Rosa Parks, and Caesar Chavez are incredible examples of fighting against racism to better theirs and others lives. Martin Luther King Jr. has increased hope to many people’s hearts. In his I have a dream speech Dr. King said, “ Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.” This gave hope to lots of black men and women that they could get a job and a have better living style for them and their families. Mahatma Gandhi, a man who inspired MLK, said something that happens all the time, especially in this situation, “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” (brainyquote.com, forbes.com) He has definitely won the war of segregation. Martin has delivered hope to my heart. Without him I might not be able to have the same rights as other people. Just because my skin is a different color does not mean that anyone else is superior to me because of theirs. MLK has made me want to fight against something. I lay in awe as I think that he that he believed he died for a cause he knew was true. When someone fights so hard for unjust laws, it makes me want to fight something too. Martin also inspired all people to stand up for what they believe in. I try live out his dream by being a boy scout. By being a Boy Scout of America, we take an oath that says, “ On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to god and my country, and to help other people at all times...” We help people in many ways, like service projects and just being kind. Through his great and marvelous actions, Martin Luther King Jr. set an example to lots of people. He was great at refraining the use of violence to solve racial problems. With Mahatma Gandhi 's as an example, MLK was able to accomplish his goal of all men gain their freedom. If he was able to see the progress we had made, he would be very proud. Through his determination and effort, Martin succeeded in inspiring people through his nonviolent work, in leading people together for peace, and giving hope and dreams to all.

All of the Americans were there listening to King persuade everyone to act with non-violence. King is very firm and confident about his speech of nonviolence resistance.

The solution to the long lasting problem was found in his words and his strength of mind, rather than violence and physical strength. Today, the strategy of nonviolence keeps proving its effect.
Both Dr. King and Gandhi have proven that non-violent acts can solve things. Our natural thinking when have been wronged is to fight back, but if we learn from people like Dr. King we can fight injustice without people getting hurt. The life that Dr. King chose wasn’t an easy one. He had to put up with a lot of abuse from many different people.
Martin Luther King Imagine if you were an African American during 1963 a time when Martin Luther King was doing his protests, would you support Martin Luther or go to violence? Martin Luther was an inspiration in many ways. He put the Civil Rights Movement into motion and initiated action for equality among different races.. Martin Luther King did many non-violent marches and protests against the black laws. He inspired other Negroes or black people to stand up to the color laws.
Martin Luther King Jr. inexplicably opened the eyes of Americans across the nation with his role in the movement and his use of resonating imagery, excellent emotional appeal, powerful voice, and evocation of logic in his “I Have a Dream” speech. With such an enthralling rhetoric he gained a vast amount of support and exponentially increased the pride in standing up for what’s righteous and just. Exemplifying the throes of being a colored person, King evoked sympathy whilst simultaneously applying the valid logic that no human should be subjected to lesser standards. He fought for the rights of segregated america. Doing this allowed African Americans to receive better treatment within the communities.
Dr. King is widely regarded as America’s pre-eminent advocate of nonviolence and one of the greatest nonviolent leaders in world history (“About Dr. King.”).” King’s courage and call for equality showed that all Americans can live in peace. In this quote it explains that violence is never the answer and how King truly affected the United States population. He experienced many setbacks but still never gave up. His courage brightened the eyes of African Americans and showed that the world will find peace in the future.
Freedom of speech is an important Constitutional Issue that gives us the individual right to express the way we feel. Having freedom of speech in public, in newspapers, books, or media is a part that makes us the land of the free. Without freedom of speech we couldn’t say what we think without getting in trouble What we say can either make our community stronger, or it could tear it apart. It was August 28 1963 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was about to start his speech.
He taught people that you don’t have to be hostile when you speak with someone. No one wants to work with someone who is always ready to rip someone’s head off. If you have zero self-control then you’re just like everyone else. You may not like Martin Luther King, but you will respect him, that’s a fact. He’s teaching people to react in love with the people that hate him.
Cesar Chavez on the tenth anniversary of Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr's assassination, wrote an article in a religious organization's magazine. In his article, he accentuates his argument on nonviolent resistance. By the use of specific examples and rhetorical devices. He appeals to his crowd and provides his argument as to why nonviolence should be used to accomplish their goals. One of the specific examples being that Dr.Kings life exemplifies the farm workers movement.
People in life struggle with hardships enormously in life. People can overcome those hardships and become a new person entirely. Martin Luther King went through a great amount of hardships during the Civil Rights movement. Martin had a great amount of hate received to him all over the country.that just changed him to work harder to convince hateful people that blacks and whites could be together. Martin was sadly assassinated,but his image changed the world greatly.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
Martin Luther King’s speech, “I Have a Dream” is vastly recognized as one of the best speeches ever given. His passionate demand for racial justice and an integrated society became popular throughout the Black community. His words proved to give the nation a new vocabulary to express what was happening to them. Martin was famously a pacifist, so in his speech, he advocated peaceful protesting and passively fighting against racial segregation.
Nonviolent resistance and realistic pacifism were more than an intellectual assent, but rather a way of life for Martin Luther King Jr. The profound dedication that King exemplifies is a testament to the power of love in the face injustice. King notes in his work Pilgrimage to Nonviolence, of the process of meticulously surveying the works of other philosophical thinkers in search of something to medicate his religious, and personal dilemma when addressing philosophical perspectives. Ghandi’s nonviolent resistance has made a lasting impact on King, which has made a tremendous influence in African American rights.
