The Declaration of Independence When in the course of an organization, the original beliefs are no longer enforced, the members must make a separation. We the students of Georgetown High School are tired of being treated unfairly and having our education not taken seriously. We hold strong in our belief that every student has the right to learn in an environment that is clean, safe, and fair. Georgetown High School is no longer holding these standards so the students feel the need to form our own organization. To prove that Georgetown High’s standards have fallen and a dissolvent is needed, here is our list of grievances. • The dress code is not enforced properly. Teachers pick who to code on their state of dress and let some students walk free …show more content…
When the textbooks weight can exceed 15 pounds, we just cannot carry them. Female students are allowed to carry purses, this is not fair to male students who have no way to carry their supplies. • The bathrooms at Georgetown High are extremely unsanitary, causing some student to choose not to use them. This can leave students with health problems. • The lunch tables are never wiped down and students are forced to eat in an unclean environment. • The substitutes are inadequate and disrupt student learning. Substitutes are meant to aid student learning, not hinder it. • The lockers at the school are far too small, not even able to hold the required student textbooks. New students are not always assigned lockers and are forced to carry all or their textbooks. • Teachers at Georgetown assign an ungodly amount of homework. This workload can take students hours to complete. • The teachers at Georgetown High School refuse to stay after school and tutor students, even though it is in their contracts that they must stay until three-thirty. • All students are not allowed to have library rights. The librarian only lets certain students access the bookshelves in the
G.H.’s school district denies discrimination and says they treat students fairly and equally. (Kubota, 2023). Sexism spreads across the country as girls are not allowed to practice in sports bras while they watch the boys practice shirtless.
During the mid-1700’s after “Seven Years War”, the British became submerged under a massive debt from fighting in one of the empire’s most expensive war. To absorb the impact of the war debt, Prime Minister of England George Grenville, shifted part of the war debt to Britain’s colonies. Throughout the mid-1700’s Britain imposed intolerable acts upon the colonies such as the sugar act, stamp act, tea act, coercive acts, so on and so forth. Though the colonies trying to fight for representation so taxes can be passed with a majority’s approval instead of members of parliament making colonists decisions, never declared a full on war with the mother country or even wanted to separate in the first place.
“Out of the 180 teacher-slots, typically 25 or so cannot be filled and have to be assigned to substitutes” and that is for the spots the school cannot fill, furthermore some teachers didn’t even show up for class at all they the students would have at least a sub everyday. After attending a teacher meeting Jonathan noticed that the students didn’t pick the classes they wanted to take they just put in classes until they filled up and than move on to a different class. The library was closed for almost a quarter of the year every year because of testing or other stuff that being said the students
Over the course of American history, society has dealt with many flaws, and dilemmas. In Source B, it illustrates that Abigail Adams, John’s wife, wanted the Continental Congress to remember the ladies when they write The Declaration of Independence. In Source C, it rationalizes how slaves didn’t have equal rights as white men, and the petition is trying to give their natural rights back. Furthermore, in Source D, a miniseries that depicted John Adams life, given particular the Revolutionary War. This source allows the viewer to visualize the conflicts that the Continental Congress had, with the colonists, and the British.
At Apollo Career Center, there are a lot of people who bring stuff like chew, dip, and vape pens into class. Even though they know that they are not supposed to do it, they still do and get suspended for it. They are wasting their time and money by coming to school and then getting suspended. They are also wasting the teachers’ time by pulling them away from teaching so that they can deal with the chewers, dippers, and vapers. If the school had a person at the entrance to the building to search their bags and pockets for those items, it would save time and money.
The first section of the Declaration of Independence is talking about the people to assume political independence. The next section is talking about people have certain rights and when the government violates these rights then the people have the right to abolish that government. Then in the next selection, it is a list of charges against King George III, which says that he violated the colonists’ rights and is an unfit ruler. The next selection represents the disappointment that these attempts had been unsuccessful. In another section, it says that rhe signers assert that there exist conditions under which people must change their government that the British have produced such conditions, and by necessity, the colonies must throw off political
I find that this school is slacking in areas that could be easily fixed. For example, the school lunchs are complete wack. They don 't taste good and the portions are terrible. I feel like I 'm being ripped off. I wish they 'd allow us to bring food back into the school/classrooms.
Saltillo High School no longer assigns lockers to students, but it should. Students will often have multiple books and binders to carry home every day in their bags resulting in a sore back and shoulders from the strain of the heavy backpack. The lockers are already in place, so allowing the students to use them would not cost the school any money. There really is no reason why the students should not be able to have access to them.
The new systems some schools have started using are overstepping the boundaries of the
The Declaration of Independence was written many years ago and helped form the constitution, that helped form the state we live in today; so it played a pretty big part in our history and freedom that we honor today. the principals within this document are what gives us as individuals some of our rights that we are born with and no one can take them away, but, unfortunately, the united states government doesn't do a very good job at upholding these principals. the first principal in the decoloration of independence is that all people are created equal, but sometimes the government and people don't respect this principle, such as jail time being longer for black people or not excepting them because of religion color or being gay or giving a

School Dress Code is Sexist School dress code has gotten out of hand, limiting young girls and boys on what they can wear to school. Telling young women that they are distractions in class because of what they wear. Girls get sent home because of their outfits it makes it seem like the administration is not worried about whether or not they get an education. Many types of clothing d or that have such as leggings, low cut shirts, and shorts have been banned or have restrictions. It is hard to find clothes that meet all these requirements.
Any girl who has attended a public high school understands the daily dilemma of dress code. On those scorching hot days as the school year approaches summer, many girls can be found scavenging through their closet for a “school appropriate” outfit or one they won’t melt into a sweaty puddle in. Her dresses will show too much leg, her tops will inappropriately expose her shoulder or collar bone, and her shorts will be too short — at least that 's what the school says. Dress code in modern day high schools should be boycotted because they are a violation to student and parents rights, sexist, out of date, a double standard, and they disrupt a female students education. It 's fair to agree with a policy that claims stringent dress codes increase the emphasis on academics and reduce the pressure of socioeconomic status; however, these dress codes violate the students First Amendment right to freedom of expression and the parents’ Fourteenth Amendment right to raise their children in their own way.
Over the last 20 years, many schools have shifted away from fairly unregulated student dress codes to more stringent dress codes, with some schools implementing voluntary or mandatory school uniforms. There are several positions on the dress code issue, each of which have their own persuasive arguments to support them, which can be evaluated to examine their validity. One position in favor of implementing dress codes is that these standards can improve student safety and perhaps even student performance at school. There are variations on this position that favor strict standards on what students can wear, while others want to implement school uniforms in public schools. The opposing view is that students should not be subject to any dress codes on the grounds that they restrict students' freedom of expression, and that they may place unfair cost burdens on poor families.
Many aspects of public education are problematic. For example, the usefulness in grading systems (other than IB schools) are questionable. It cages up creativity and makes the students unmotivated. Also many times the grading system is just wrong. When students write something and give it to the teacher to grade sometimes they can get a horrible grade.
