An enduring issue is an issue that has existed over time that many societies have tried to improve. One enduring issue in history that has affected society is population growth. Population growth started during the Second Agricultural Revolution. It was a problem for people to keep up because it was increasing so rapidly. Population growth led to technological changes. With new technologies, vast natural resources have become scarce. Environmental deterioration and scarcity of resources were and still are problems affecting many people. There are still many problems that are still being endured. There are countries where people have no shelter, food, or water. Rapid population growth has had a big impact on society. Lower classes find it difficult …show more content…
(OI) As the population grows faster and faster, the earth cannot keep up. The impact of population growth on society can present itself in several ways. The maximized demands on resources led to conflict and scarcity. The increased demand for housing, food, and other goods led to price increases and economic problems. The growth of populations also has a negative impact on the environment. Producing enough needed food to satisfy the needs of the people was their priority. Distributing the food equally was even harder to do. Distributing an equal amount of food is an obstacle because of poverty and scarcity. Poverty grows worse as the population keeps increasing. (Document 3) In Brazil, many people are moving into the Amazon. Brazil does not have the resources to supply the entire population because of urbanization. The people that moved to the Amazon started cutting down trees, which led to the deforestation of the Amazon. Animals are not only the ones living in the forest, but humans live there too. (Document 4) They are losing their homes and freedom just like the citizens of India, Africa, and China. European nations were using …show more content…
Population growth has continued to grow and people have continued to use up the earth’s resources. Climate change is an issue caused by humans and their disregard for the planet. Humans have used up so much of the earth’s resources that it poses a threat to all things living. Animals are becoming extinct and their habitats are being lost. Humans need to expand and build more places to live because there is not enough space for everyone due to population growth. Sanitation conditions have improved but there are still places where they have not improved. Third-world countries lack food, clean water, and shelter. Scarcity has been a problem for a long time. Natural resources are diminishing. Many people are going hungry and dying because they don’t have enough food and can’t afford shelter. Due to overpopulation and the increase in prices, there are many people that can not provide for themselves and their families. Natural resources are becoming so limited and needed that people will do anything for them. The strong taking from the weak is just how Charles Darwin believed it should be. Darwin’s theory was that people are subject to the same Darwinian laws of natural selection as plants and animals. (OI) Tribes are being separated from their homes so that others can take the resources. Population growth affects everyone and everything and it will continue to cause problems as the
The lower social class goes through many life challenges
Sewage in these cities washed into the streets and eventually into waterways, which hastened the spread of disease.” The sewage would eventually spread into the streets and when people touched it the germs and the trash from other people would spread onto their skin causing disease. One more example is, “As more product was being produced as a result of the Industrial Revolution, the natural resources necessary to make the production possible were under great demand. As a result of the growth of production as well as population, the demand had surpassed the availability showing the implications of limited available resources.” It's obvious to see that limiting natural resources could lead to a number of problems to begin with.
Enduring Issues are problems and challenges that mankind has faced and learned from through all of time. An example of an enduring issue is the need for innovation. The need for innovation is an issue that causes mankind to create new things or find new ways to do something to address the issue. This is extremely important because this is what pushes mankind to create new technology and ideas. These new technologies and ideas are what cause humanity to progress.
Other effects of overpopulation includes rise in unemployment rate and higher cost of living. Thus, Canada realises that the increase in numbers does not benefit our society in the near future. Canada believes
Lastly, generally speaking, population growth has both positive and negative effect on country, but it’s for the people of that country to stand up and control it so that their standard of living would not be degraded, but
Without Earth’s limited resources, the human race would not be able to exist. Our planet supplies us with the food, air, water, and other necessary resources to ensure our ability to survive. Unfortunately, these necessities are not guaranteed to be infinite and could eventually become insufficient to human needs. As Earth’s human population increases, more and more resources are required to be used to ensure survival. I believe that human overpopulation is detrimental to the planet and equality among the human race.
a. Industrial Pollution: The increased use of fossil fuels and the rise of heavy industries led to pollution of air, water, and soil, posing significant environmental challenges that persist to this day. b. Resource Depletion: Rapid industrialization resulted in the depletion of natural resources, causing long-term damage to ecosystems and challenging sustainability. 6.
Introduction Overpopulation is the excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding and it is an undesirable condition in every country where the number of existing human population rises to an extent exceeding the carrying capacity of ecological setting. Overpopulation can be result from an increase in births, an increase in immigration, a decline in mortality rates and other factors that may cause overpopulated environment. Therefore, this can cause influence as lack of the available essential materials for survival like water, shelter, social amenities and other because of the numbers of people might be more than the materials for survival. In such condition, this regularly contributes to environmental deterioration, worsening
Population Exhausting Resources Visual Analysis The global population has been exponentially growing for hundreds of years, and it has been acceptable because there has been enough resources to support the growth. What happens if the population growth begins to exceed the resources available? Buddha once said that “the living are few, but the dead are many”. If population continues to grow, resources will be depleted and there will be a population bomb to keep the population at carrying capacity.
Population growth is rate at which populations increase in size, population grows exponentially. After studying the rates at which different countries populations would double, my eyes were opened to the main issues of population growth. The main issues include not enough space per person in area i.e. overcrowding, the fact that food growth is at a slower rate than the increasing amount of people there is to feed, inequality of resources and causes natural resources to decline, such as water and trees. The issue of population growth and over population that was most challenging to me was the lack of solutions to the issue. The world population and its growth are not sustainable, I understand that there are ways to control population, such as birth control, education and a head tax.
Climate change is the most pressing issue at the moment over the world. The cause of climate change is caused by natural causes and people. Global warming is caused by Appliances, deforestation, and fossil fuels. The climate is changing rapidly and we need to do something. The global climate change and its consequences are leaving a bad impact on the countries to face poverty and hotter temperatures.
Moreover, the earth’s temperature is still rising, which is warming the oceans. Snowy places around the world are getting less or the snow is starting to melt. For example, The Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are shrinking. According to NASA Global Climate Change,” Both the extent and thickness of Arctic sea ice has declined rapidly over the last several decades.” Noticing these times we have seen a lot of extreme events, which were because of the climate change.
However, these examples are of the most effective to implement. Population growth is typically characterized by a lack or misuse of resources. The problems comes from not distributing the resources the optimal way, allowing the country to fall into economic depression and perpetuating population growth. Yet, the true solutions come in sharing these resources equally. When given access to quality healthcare, equal income, education, and opportunities besides the large family model of developing countries, human will expand their choices beyond only having children.
Over decades, the earth’s climate has fluctuated. In the last century, the earth has warmed by one degree Celsius. This increase in temperature could mean nicer weather, however this might turn out to have a different meaning or impact on human and its environment. Climate change can be caused by human activities and can also result from natural causes.
According to www.conserve-energy-future.com, the first factor causing environmental degradation is overpopulation. Rinkesh, World’s Top Eco-Conscious Bloggers and website owner, stated that overpopulation leads to excessive consumption of goods and necessities which impacts natural resources. This is because more people demand more food, clothes, shelter and fuel. Because of this demand, their living space needs to be expanded in order to grow food and provide homes for people.
