Hi, as mentioned in previous mails I made a small experimental Puppet resource type which uses the UserMgr REST API. I will post the source later. In general the UserMgr-API made a very good first impression, but the following issues make it hard to use the API for configuration management frameworks, like Puppet.

However, it was necessary to test back to the fifth grade level due to Tessa’s performance on the suggested starting point. Tessa completed the fifth grade word list automatically with 90% accuracy, in the allotted time, signifying she read the words at the independent level. When analyzing the sixth grade word list, Tessa automatically identified 70% of the words, indicating she was identifying words at the instructional level.

SCENERIO Baxter, a year three Aboriginal student who at age three developed a sensorineural hearing impairment after repeated exposure to Otitis Media. Baxter uses a cochlear implant on one ear, as the other was not viable. Unfortunately, due to bullying in previous years Baxter has limited confidence in his communication skills and will rarely speak aloud, except with the teacher privately, close friends, and family. Baxter often communicates using basic sign language, but relies heavily on gestures. He is currently working with a speech therapist to increase his speech and language skills and to increase his confidence.

As the education coordinator, I will first approach my subject matter as a system itself. I will design my materials first by identifying their purpose, then second their function and finally deriving the structure of the educational materials from the necessary functions. In developing educational materials, I will also want to familiarize myself with my students as I know that according to communication models they may interpret what I communicate differently than I intend due to how they “decode” (Nelson, Staggers, 2014). Once I have an understanding for what my students know, I will move forward by assessing their learning styles as I believe that is an incredibly valuable thing for an educator as well as a student to know.
