The reasons people act violently is a broad topic of study. Although many psychologists and people in general continue to speculate about what those reasons may be. One of the main reasons people are thought to act in a violent manner is that it is a symptom of how that person uses violence as “a means of coping with life 's problems” (Seifert 1). Another reason that people use violence to express their feelings could be imitating what they see going on around them. Proving this point is this statistic that, “almost all of the bullies, 97 percent, said they were also victims of bullying”.

People can become violent when they are feeling any source of negativity, even towards their loving members. When a parent shows violence to their child, the child will grow up learning what they should be greedy for: power. The child will grow up and will show their kids what they have learned, which is abuse. People learning from others actions shows that “violence is a disease” (Zimbarido 2009). In order to keep and live in a place controlled under power, the person in authority will take away and limit properties for other.
There are other factors that may cause people to be violent, such as mental disorders, abusive families, drug use, and personalities. Most people that are born into abusive families have the tendency to be violent, since abuse was in their upbringing. The abuse will cause them to have sadness and anger, then as they get older will give peers and family that same violent treatment. Children who are abused are “nine times more likely to become involved in criminal activity” (“Child Abuse Statistics and Facts”). Also, mental disorders can cause people to be violent.
