Introduction Before I joined this class I have less idea about the group dynamic what is means, and what will do. In general, I was think group dynamics is interesting and will improve our self and it is important of future. Know after I finish this subject , the group dynamics was actually interesting subject . It helps me to improve myself to be better because every member want to work together to achieve for our goals. So I know there are many skills that must everyone have it. For example, communication skill, teamwork, organization, motivation and listening skills confidence. Processes that occur between group members cells group dynamics. According to Wilhelm Wundt (1832–1920) ‘’As a field of study, group dynamics has roots in both psychology and sociology “. The group is two or more people who have come together to achieve particular goals. Another definition, a number of people that work together or share certain beliefs. There are many ways that we can share the information, experience to your colleague . For example , we can do role play ,games and do small lecture . I prefer role play because I think it is easy to give the our ideas for class meat so they can focus to understand the concept and will cooperate with ours . In the first class of these subject It was kind of exciting and interesting and the teacher explained …show more content…
The most topic I like it is listening . In fact , the listening is important skills that can improve our self and to be successful in our life . There are many benefits of effective listening. Listening contributes of case analysis and strategy . Also helps to avoid nasty surprises later . Furthermore, listening can be a way of letting others do the work . Moreover , it will generates more work in future (in a good way ) .Also the nurse need to have good active listening to understand and can helps the patient to be better
While understanding communication between nurses is important, similarly, communication is also important to the nurse and other disciplines. I was able to witness effective communication between disciplines that focused on the patients’ health. One example of this was pertaining to a patient in the ICU room. The respiratory therapist discussed the patient’s current situation with the hospitalist. The nurse I was shadowing used successful communication with the CNA on duty to help assist with the patient’s current needs at that particular time.
The nurse must be able to communicate with an interdisciplinary team to advocate for their patient and to advance the plan of care. The nurse must also be able to successfully communicate with their patient to provide teaching and comfort. The nurse must remember that an important part of communication is listening to the needs of the patient and their families. Manager To be an effective nurse, one must be able to assume the role of manage, delegator, and coordinator of care.
It is important that nurses acquire skills such as communication skills- both verbal and non-verbal, therapeutic, and clinical decision making among others. The ability of a nurse to communicate well and make appropriate clinical decision, determines the success of holistic assessment in nursing practice. There is no doubt that the capability of a nurse to provide the best and quality care is largely dependent on her or his ability to communicate, judge and make clinical decisions.
Interpersonal behaviors are used to meet their needs, their group interactions are characterize by these behaviors and therefore determine which stage are they currently in during a group development. Schutz divided the group development models into three phases: inclusion, control and affection phase. Firstly, the inclusion phase. During this phase members are anxious becoming group members. The focus is on whether to be in or out of the group as one is not sure to what extent will, he or she is supposed to get involved with the group.
The purpose of group learning and development is to ensure that all learning styles are catered for and the ultimate goal of sharing knowledge is achieved. When using a group to deliver something new each individual can call on a fellow participant to confirm understanding. 1.2 Explain why delivery of learning and development must reflect group dynamics When delivering to a group it is important to consider, what is the normal behaviour within the group? Who plays what role?
Communication is described as the interchange of information, thoughts, and feelings between individuals using dialog or other methods (Kourkouta, & Papathanasiou, 2014). Communication between patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals can influence the patient outcome subsequently, understanding what establishes an effective communication will be beneficial for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Having the skills to articulate efficiently exists beyond having verbal skills. According to Wright (2012), to establish effective communication, a nurse should develop the use of nonverbal cues such as body language, demonstrating active listening skills to facilitate assurance that the interaction remains successful, and having
According to Bramhall (2014), Effective communication one of the basic skills of nursing staff, which enhances patient care. Add to this the communication plays an important role in showing empathy and thus it becomes easy for the patient to report positive experiences or even the bad ones. I think that the most important things are to communicate not only with the patient but also with healthcare team members. In addition, nurses need to be able to communicate successfully with all member of the health care providers and to provide and give the full information about the patient
A group is a number of people who indulge in social interactions on a regular basis and have some common grounds including norms, values, identity and expectations. Different types of groups constitute a social structure. In sociology, groups can be categorized as primary or secondary. Primary groups are characterized by intimacy and emotional bonding. They are generally smaller in size and involve more frequent face-to-face interactions, for example, family and friends .
There are many ways in which group dynamics resonate in this film. Group work can foster connections and provide an opportunity /for group members to feel bonded. The Titans football team is a task group; the ultimate role of the group is to have the players come together as one unit. However, there are critical group dynamics that threaten the team’s ability to function properly.
The study of group dynamics provides a vehicle to analyse group communications with the intent of rendering the groups more effective (Davies & Newstrom, 1985) (La Monica, 1985). In the next section, this essay will be focused on the relationships and interactions between leadership behaviour and group dynamics. 2.0 BODY OF ANALYSIS There are many leadership behaviour that affects the employee effectiveness, commitment and group dynamics. According to (Folkman, Z., 2010) they have identified the nine behaviours that will have the greatest impact on employee: inspire and motivate others, driving for results, strategic perspective, collaboration, walk the talk, trust, develops and supports others, building relationships and courage.
The membership composition includes, chairperson, deputy chairperson, Head of training, Head of administration and the rest were members. Assessment of Group Dynamics- Part (a) The four dimensions of group dynamics are vital for understanding and working effectively with all types of group.
Introduction To date I have completed three classes and one group facilitation exam for this semester. The aim of this assignment is to demonstrate my personal and professional learning for the duration of the module. It will discuss the definition of group work; how I planned for my group exercise; it will outline my learning as a facilitator and observer for a thirty minute exercise. I will use Bruce Tuckman 's five stage group development model to outline the stages of the group process.
As an individual one has the ability to form their own unique opinions and make their own choices, but the way a person thinks or feels can easily be influenced by the surrounding environment. Being in a group setting can especially impact and triumph over one’s individual thoughts. This principle, known as group mind, is a collective set of ideas and opinions shared by a group that come together to form one mutual belief. It can become confusing to separate an individual’s opinion from the groups. A person needs to become aware of the effects of pressure within a group in order to remain objective.
Listening breaks down the barriers between individuals by paving the way for mutual understanding and cooperation. Good listening prevents communication gap and facilitates a fair grasp of the objectives and priorities of individuals and institutions. Attentive listening prevents the need for repetitions and thus save precious time. Normally, people listen to improve their knowledge, to obtain information, to follow directions, to be able to solve problems, to share experiences and feelings of joy and sorrow, to express opinions, to give judgments, and finally to learn new
This helps other people fill their gap in their knowledge that they have beforehand this creates a good learning experience for them with their peers. As an experience people learn by being around the others because when you are working in a group, everyone gathers information and build ideas which mean that you can learn new ideas and use them effectively. Working in a group it can help to gain other knowledge what they do not know form other people and this helps you to understand better. If people do not gain knowledge form others then they may not experience group work effectively this can be because they will miss out on different learning styles. This can make them have more of a negative learning experience; by this this it will not help them and
