When we are first presented with the character of Macbeth he is pictured as a noble and loyal warrior. However, once his future is presented to him by the witches saying that he, Macbeth, is to become the next great King of Scotland, he begins to lose focus and makes the wrong decisions. Macbeth begins to only make choices that will benefit only himself and to gain power. Becoming almost unrecognizable to the person he once was. After confronting his wife, Lady Macbeth, he isn't the only one with a lust for power.

Gothic harmonies, doll parts, puffs of mist from the mouths of Shakespearean actors, and the gore of the undead invigorate the creepy atmosphere of Macbeth at the Globe Theater. I had the pleasure of viewing Macbeth from The Pit. An experience that can be quite exhausting if your mind wanders from the action of the play to the pain in your feet. Luckily, Macbeth at the Globe sucked me in and trapped me in a world where all of my uneasiness came from the show and not from my toes.

In his play, Shakespeare defines the meaning of humanity and shows its varying degrees and extremes, and he primarily illustrates the worst humanity has to offer through his own creation, Macbeth. Macbeth is a character that goes through significant change throughout the novel as a result of his own actions and, perhaps, fate. In his tale of witchery, madness, and war, Shakespeare illustrates how Macbeth changes from an ambitious man to one that has gone made as a result of his wrongdoing to finally a person that is sorrowful yet indifferent to the world around him. To begin, Macbeth is first portrayed as an ambitious individual. In the scene directly following the encounter with the witches, Macbeth displays his hunger for power.

In my opinion, Macbeth is a play of contradiction and desire. Headed to be King, Macbeth will slaughter all and any that get in his direction. He puts his confidence in the words and predictions of three witches, after their initial one, that he will get to be Thane of Cawdor comes through. Macbeth's wife, Lady Macbeth, is instrumental in Macbeth's aspiration, egging him on when he fears he has gone to far, and plotting of significance. An example of his murders are King Duncan and Banquo which he killed out of power and suspicion.

The play Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, is seen as one of Shakespeare 's greatest tragedies. It deals with a man named Macbeth, who is introduced as a brave, strong war hero. He has the respect of the king and his peers. The predictions of three witches that Macbeth will become king begin Macbeth 's descent into his own downfall. The play is set in Scotland, written for King James I.

What does it mean to deserve to be King? In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, a man named Macbeth kills the king, Duncan, for his own ambition, but allows Duncan’s sons to escape. In the aftermath of Duncan’s death, Macbeth becomes king and murders everyone who dares oppose him. This leads Malcolm, legitimate heir to the crown, to go against Macbeth and ends up claiming his rightful place in Scotland. The function of Duncan and his sons (Malcolm and Donalbain) is to be the good that opposes and contrasts with Macbeth and his evil.

In the tragic play, Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is a character who actively contributes whether it is directly or indirectly to all of the notable deaths in the play. Despite these treacherous acts of murder however, Shakespeare still manages to evoke feelings of sympathy for Macbeth within the mind of the reader. By emphasizing Macbeth’s declining mental state, as well as Macbeth’s conflict with his nobility and is ambition are the devices Shakespeare uses to retain sympathy for Macbeth throughout the play despite his increasingly evil nature. Perhaps the greatest contributor to the reader’s feeling of sympathy for Macbeth lies within Shakespeare’s portrayal of Macbeth’s mental instability.

William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, the main character; Macbeth, is seen as an evil character. The play is based off of Macbeth’s decisions and his actions to become King. In the beginning Macbeth starts out as a hero in Scotland’s war with Ireland and towards the end he is transformed into a murderer. Macbeth is not wholly evil because of is heroism in the war, his love for Scotland, and because he didn’t want to kill King Duncan initially. Macbeth was brain washed by his wife and tricked into killing the King.

Lady Macbeth’s constant questioning of his manhood early on lead to an even greater amount of pressure on Macbeth to gain power through any means necessary. As stated by 19th century English writer Lord Acton, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Macbeth starts as a man who has been praised for murder he committed on the battlefield and soon becomes the very enemy he originally fought against by rebelling against higher power. With his inherited power Macbeth gains the access to do whatever he wants with those who oppose him.

The play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a story of an honorable and loyal soldier, Macbeth, who plummets from grace and ultimately becomes a murderous tyrant. It is human nature that the more power someone desires, the more they will do to obtain it. Throughout the play we see Macbeth’s burning ambitions disclose his extensive desire for this power. In an age where the power of kings directly comes from God, Macbeth’s desire to become king threatens the values and morals of his society. Although Macbeth is manipulated and motivated by his questionably more ambitious wife, Macbeth never completely loses the capacity to make his own choices.

Macbeth Oral Commentary My assigned passage was Act 4, Scene 3, lines (1 ─ 27). In this passage, MacDuff arrives at the court of Edward the Confessor, King of England to bring the rightful heir back. MacDuff approaches Malcolm with an idea of convincing him into defending their homeland as the state of Scotland under Macbeth’s leadership is dreadful. Unsettled, Malcolm questions whether MacDuff’s appearance of loyalty is genuine, as Malcolm is in danger after the King 's death. Malcolm uses reverse psychology by degrading his status through saying he is inexperienced and could be betrayed effortlessly to see if MacDuff gives in.

Macbeth’s character changes greatly throughout the play, from a respected thane to a king who people want dead. Macbeth gives in to his ‘vaulting ambition’ and, encouraged by the witches and Lady Macbeth, he murders King Duncan for the power.
