The 2016-2017 school year is one I both looked forward to and dread. I perceive it will bring many new beginning and ends of things I have been enjoying for many years. First, I plan on completing my high school education in the fall of 2016. As you can probably imagine, the idea of finally finishing the four year adventure is very exciting and a chapter I will be happy to end. However, with the end of high school comes the beginning of college. Over the past couple years I have been considering different career fields to go to a university or college for. The career path I chose had to (preferably) be something I would enjoy and one I could earn enough to provide for a family.I opted for a career in Cosmetology because I have enjoyed doing
The years after high school are often difficult, and usually takes time to get used to. As transition wraps its arms around Cath and her journey through college, through its other three years. what more changes can we
From sleeping through an English class, to skipping a history test, because you haven’t touched your textbook all semester. Seniors are so close to moving onto the next step of their life that the things that were so exciting their freshman don't appeal to them. They are ready to experience life outside of high school; whether that's college,
As I sit in the basement of the Lilly Library, surrounded by friends who have become family in a few short months, covered in calculus and EQ notes, and listening to some Duke Ellington jazz music for my Music 101 class, I can’t help but reflect on what this year has meant to me and my development as a student, athlete, brother, friend, and person. I entered Wabash College not exactly sure what to expect; I knew it was going to be different, but I also knew that with change I wanted to keep an open mind that was ready to learn and grow. Freshman tutorial and especially enduring questions are two classes that have pushed my boundaries as a person, forcing me to question core beliefs and ideas that seemed previously engrained in my mind. Throughout
something I had learned to do on my own growing up, and also enjoyed doing was Braiding and styling hair/ Throughout my high school years I was a known as a hair braider I had many of my friends and family members coming to me to get their hair done. Once graduating from high school I pursued a career as a hairstylist, I wanted to learn how doing all type hair. Enrolling in Redondo Beach cosmetology school would center me in a diverse environment majority-white, so I can obtain the skills of learning how to do other ethnicity hair.
Growing up children have think they know what they want to be when they grow up but as they progress and get older they’re ideal career changes for the most part based on the changes they go threw themselves and experiences. For example I wanted to be an Actress because I would to watch the a lot of movies on the daily basis but then as I got older that changed, my ideal job now is have a good paying job and not have to work excess hours. I Chose Dental assisting because the dentistry field has a lot to offer I have always wanted to work in the health field and unlike medical nursing, Dental Assistants have more control of their schedule also they have a wide variety of options from working in private offices to working in public health departments also offers good hours, pay and
The career field that I have chosen to go into is the medical field. In the medical field I would like to become a dental hygienist. The background that I have on dental hygienist is that you exam gums, clean teeth, and teach about oral care. The research that I have already done on this profession is a dental hygienist annual salary and required hour of work. Some more research I utilized is how many years of college are needed, what you do while at work, and if you work by yourself or who you work with.
Every little girl plays with her mothers makeup. I used to watch my mother and sisters do their makeup every morning, and I would sit in front of a mirror and try to imitate their actions. As soon as I could walk, I was getting into their makeup. This continued for years until I bought my own materials to gain more experience and expand my creativity. I would use my imagination that makeup brought, and I would test different designs on my friends and family.
I have always enjoyed the art of cosmetology because it helps bring out people's features, makes them feel more confident, and there's always different looks for everyone. I remember when I would get my hair done, being so intrigued by the art that came from it. How changing the color of someone's hair can change there whole look, or how a simple haircut can bring out certain face features. When I first started doing hair and makeup, I was not very good, but the more I kept practicing the better I got. On the other hand I have always been pretty good with doing hair.

The past four years of my life hold both my highest of highs and my lowest of lows. High school can be a very awkward time period in a person’s life. Four years ago, I made the intimidating switch from St. Mary’s School to Algoma High School. There were certain aspects of high school which made me nervous, but academics was not one of them. I learned how to be a responsible student in my earlier years, and school had always come relatively easy to me.
