Do you think a person would put there self’s in harms way and get close to a stranger. Hear of someone being murdered by john Steinbeck. Men of mice there are two men they travel and she gets mixed up in it badly. Curlys wife is to blame because she provoked it and put herself in that situation.
Curlys wife is being nosy and she doesn’t need to put her nose into everything. She pokes around everywhere. She has a husband looking for her 24/7 and yet she still is looking around for a guy to get with . if she would stay where she is needed it would have been fine. So that’s why I think she is at fault of her death.
She provoked him and it was her fault. She told him to feel her hair she also talked to him when she wasn’t suppose to and she yelled
He does this because he felt it was what she wanted. He felt that she wanted him to kill her which is why he felt he didn't do anything
John Steinbeck, author of Of Mice and Men, clearly and sharply creates his characters so that they can be interpreted - without surrendering individuality - as various archetypes. Steinbeck uses archetypes to enhance the fact that these characters do not belong in a normal society. On page 13, George says, “guys like us...are the loneliest guys in the world.” They move from ranch to ranch looking for jobs but never “belong [to] no place.” A normal society contains people engaging with the trends and agreeing with the mainstream; contrarily, these characters are similar to outcasts.
I think that throughout chapter five, both Lennie and Curley's wife feel regret through their actions, or their emotions. I think that Lennie feel regret on chapter five because of the fact that he just killed his pup, only friend, who he will no be able to pet the rabbit anymore if George saw what he did to the pup by accidentally. This quote“Why do you got to get killed? You ain’t so little as mice. I didn’t bounce you hard” (85) showed that since Lennie kills the pup that Slim gave him while he was playing too roughly with the puppy.
Does the story end the way you expected it to? As I was finishing each chapter, I was predicting what the next chapter would be about, my predictions weren't so similar to the book. Although some ideas were not so different but not so alike. In chapter 2, when Curley was snapping at Lennie, I thought Lennie was done for, since Curley was the boss's son. But it wasn't like that, Lennie stayed with his job.
Based off what the reader knows about Crooks from chapter four, the reader can infer that he would be the kind of person to join the NAACP. The reason for this is because he believes that African Americans do not receive the same things that whites do. In the text it states, “‘ This is just a nigger talkin’, an’ a busted-black nigger, So it don’t mean nothing, see? [...]
No matter how good we act or how humane we are, due to our lack of personality and abilities, we can never achieve what we deserve. As individuals, many people do good deeds towards others every day, but nobody earns what they deserve. Everyone is a good person at heart and deserves a better life than what they have now, but due to our limitations we can’t always achieve them, similarly to Lennie and George’s situation as they struggled in the limited world in gaining money for a piece of land as “all men dream of”, “We gotta get a big stake together. I know a little place we can get cheap, but they ain’t givin’ it away” (56). In addition, no matter how good someone is or how hard they work, they will never achieve their dreams because dreams
In my essay I will identify three main points of comparison between the two pieces of literature: ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ and ‘Of Mice and Men’, principally vis-à-vis the writer’s presentation of power and status. The Tragedy of Macbeth is a play by William Shakespeare. The play’s plotline focusses around the political ambitions of the two main characters, Macbeth and his wife Lady Macbeth. The play magnifies the damaging physical and psychological effects of such ambitions on those who seek said power for their own personal gain.
I think the theme is you should take care of people that are old and disabled. George takes care of Lennie and watches out for him. Lennie has a disability and needs constant reminders about daily tasks. For example George gives Lennie several reminders about not looking at Curley’s wife.
No one had suspected the ending of the story and some were surprised by the death of Lennie. Some were even shocked by the person who killed Lennie, George. The novel Of Mice and Men has many tragic and heart-breaking events. The worst one had to be at the very end, the death of Lennie Small. The one and only George Milton killed Lennie with a bullet right through the back of his neck.
Of Mice and Men is a wonderful book explaining how life was like for men who worked in the 1930s. The book goes into deep detail about how the lives of the characters were on the ranch, their personalities, and difficulties that the men faced while trying to accomplish their dreams. Candy was one of the characters working on this farm in the fields as a swamper who is call the “Old Swamper.” He is an old man, who lost his hand while working on the ranch. Therefore, it made it harder for him to find work.
The adaption of Of Mice and Men author John steinbeck was made into a film in 1992 and directed by Gary Sinise. Of Mice and Men tells the story of the bond between two characters. Steinbeck is a great actor, In 1939, Steinbeck won the Pulitzer Prize for The grapes of Wrath. I think John steinbeck effectively showed the theme Friendship and loyalty push us to make tough choices.
Imagine that everyone was doing hard tasks that prove to be risky and dangerous, and challenges soon rose around these difficult tasks. These tasks would be devastating and generate life decisions, such as the question: who would you save, who are you going to save, Do I have to save this person or can I run away from reality? What are the costs of these questions and what would everyone’s challenges be? Challenges are everywhere-they are significantly the hardest element everyone must go through.
John Steinbeck’s, Of mice and men explores ideas of: the American dream, Male friendship and broken dreams. When George shoots Lennie, the way these ideas are communicated in the story changes. This moment was vital in the overall ideas that are being communicated in the story. The moment that George shoots Lennie is the climax of the story.
The characters in “Of Mice and Men” have memorable personalities that we all can relate to due to their set archetypes. John Steinbeck uses these common and generalized in order to have the readers relate more to his characters. This allows the reader to experience the story and feelings of the characters much better and lets the reader to connect to the character’s feelings, or force the reader to form opinions that aligns with those of the main protagonist(s). In “Of Mice of Men”, readers are initially introduced to Curley’s Wife with words such as “tart”, and having “the eye”. Which, even if readers do not know what that means, it may be inferred through diction that she is overly flirty, or a “tramp”.
In the novella, Of Mice and Men, the author John Steinbeck illustrates a ranch in the 1930’s during the great depression where those who fit into mainstream society run the show, and those deemed “outcasts” are rendered useless. Steinbeck depicts characters with setbacks that diminish their value in the eyes of society, and contrasts them to characters that have no difficulties conforming to the norm. Crooks, being a black man isolated by his race, and Candy, a elderly man limited by his age and missing limb are examples of Steinbeck characters that experience hardships because of the differences. The poor treatment of Crooks and Candy by the other characters, and their chronic unhappiness in a place that doesn’t value them, comments on how
