“Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall” by William Shakespeare. Both “The Tragedy of Julius Caesar '' written by Shakespeare and “Mean Girls” written by Tina Fey contain rising to power. It shows how much power one person can truly have on others. Nobody can rise to power without the help of others. Julius Caesar and Regina George have way more power over everyone they were around, and Brutus and Cady had help while they were rising to power to take down their protagonists. Oftentimes, powerful people use their power to do bad things. Firstly, Julius Caesar had help before rising to power. Caesar used his forces to remove political rivals and conquer Gaul. Brutus and the senators had made a plan to kill Caesar. Even though Caesar was his friend, Brutus joins the conspiracyagainst Caesar’s life because he feels that Caesar’s death is better for Rome. Brutus did not want to allow Caesar to rise to power and turn his back onto the people of Rome. Brutus felt like Caesar was being a dictator. “Which, hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous, And kill him in a shell” (2,1,33-34) Similar to how Cady, Janice and Damian made a plan to destroy Regina. At first, Cady didn’t want to join and take down Regina as she felt that Regina seemed like a kind person. Only until she kissed her ex-boyfriend, Aaron, who was Cady’s love interest. They wanted to ruin Regina George's life like how she was ruining theirs.Their plan was to separate her from Aaron, ruin her body and turn the plastics against her. Cady went behind Regina’s back as she didn’t want Regina to continue to have this power over them. “She’s not gonna get away with this, we're gonna do something” (Mean girls). People in Rome started following Brutus after he killed Caesar. For the sake of Rome, Brutus declared that he would be willing to commit himself if the people demanded it. When Brutus said this the audience felt loved and thankful as to how much Brutus values them and their country. This is similar to how Gretchen and Karen started following Cady.
