The Speech in the Virginia Convention by Patrick Henry and the Speech in the Convention by Benjamin Franklin both have similarities and differences but they are both about the views on compromise and when to stand firm. Patrick Henry had a better standpoint then Benjamin Franklin did in their speeches. Patrick Henry’s speech had a stronger point of view than Benjamin Franklin The difference between these speeches is that Patrick Henry implores his countrymen to declare war against the British he wanted to fire up the representatives at the convection in VA.

General George Washington and Captain John Paul Jones have many similarities but they also have their differences that make them unique. In the first paragraph it talks about General Washington and what characteristics he has that are different than Captain Jones's. In the second paragraph it talks about Captain Jones and what characteristics he has that are different from General Washington's. In the final paragraph it talks about what both Captain John Paul Jones and General George Washington have in common. General Washington has lots of great characteristics that make him unique and different than captain Jones.

In 1787 two men helped influence the making of the constitution of America. These two men had some minor differences but they both wanted the same outcome, for the united states to be independent. Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin both gave amazing speeches that lead to the making of the constitution and to America being a free and independent country. Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin both had similar ideas when it came to what to do with Britain. Patrick Henry believed that they must fight that if they didn't fight they would have no liberty.

There are many similarities between Henry Wallace and Alexander Hamilton. A quote that is commonly attributed to Winston Churchill “history is written by the victors,” in their case both men ended their careers on the losing side of history. Henry Wallace was the 33rd President of the United States, Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of Commerce. He was pivotal in creating the New Deal under President Theodor Roosevelt. The New Deal most notably created what is now Social Security.

Watson writes the different stances of the presidential race in the Antebellum Era in America. He is very unbiased in his writing, clearly stating each presidential candidate. Andrew Jackson’s beliefs are clearly democratic, meaning he believed that a growing wealth and power in the business community may erode the equality of ordinary citizens. This party was also known as the ‘Jackson Party’.

Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford conquered their separate struggles with two methods; words and weapons. These two men are very different, and accomplished two very different goals, but their beginnings were the same. They were both born poor, and had to work their way to the top. Many failures later, (more for Lincoln, it seemed), and the two became very powerful. One of them used his failures for good, and one for bad.

During the Antebellum period, both James Madison and James Monroe displayed inconsistencies in their thoughts about and actions toward slavery.   As the fourth president of the United States, James Madison took part in a tough decision to decide between the moral aspects and economic reasoning behind slavery..  Madison openly stated that slavery should slowly , but he still owned slaves in his home.  

The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. George Washington our first president had problems figuring out ways to control the new nation as it progressed under his leadership.

Did you ever consider whether King George or George Washington would be better suited to lead? King George was not a bad leader as everyone claimed he was. King George and George Washington were both good leaders, but when you look deeper, you will realize who really was the better leader; King George. Thus, I believe King George would be better suited to lead, because King George was taught to be a leader since he was little, King George took care of his men well, and King George did what was best for the people. First of all, King George was raised being taught how to be a good leader since he was little, and he was born into a long history of kings and queens that all were experienced leaders.

Comparison of Two Presidents The President of the United States is the head of state and head of government of the United States. As a matter of fact, the president directs the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces. He is indirectly elected by the people through the Electoral College to a four-year term, and is one of only two nationally elected federal officers, the other being the Vice President of the United States. Furthermore, the president of the USA is considered to be the world's most powerful political figure, as the leader of the only contemporary global superpower.

Since focusing on politics would of torn the Whig party apart they instead focused on personal characteristics. In eighteen forty Henry Harrison lead the Whig party to their first presidential victory in a campaign which focused more on his heroic military experience then the issues. During the late eighteen forties and early eighteen fifties slavery had become the major political issue. The disagreements and unwillingness to compromise among the Whig party lead to groups down fall.

When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.

Oakes argues that as America went to war with itself, Lincoln’s antislavery politics and Douglas’s abolitionism gradually converged. James Oakes vivid political analysis chronicles the transformation of two of America’s greatest leaders as Lincoln embraces the role of the “radical” and Douglas embraces the role of the “republican” (104). The Radical and the Republican is set in the Antebellum period when the United States was divided by the great struggle between liberty and slavery in the North and the South. The Antebellum Era in American history was a time of economic, political, and social change.

Mark Twain and Frederick Douglass both have interesting ways of writing. There are similarities and differences in their writing. They each have their own personal preference toward their style, tone, and perspective. Each story was a remembrance of boyhood written in first person. As evident, Twain’s story takes place as a boy in a town on the Mississippi River.
