“You, too, may strike it rich who dares play The Westing Game” (Raskin pg36). The sixth grade students of GLMS have read and watched The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin. There were heirs but only one could unscramble the clues to solve The Westing Game. The Westing Game and movie contain many similarities that are worth looking into. The Westing Game story is about heirs attempting to solve the mystery of Sam Westing’s death, or was it even a death at all. Out of all the sneaky, smart, and clever heirs only one could crack the code, Turtle Wexler (T.R Wexler). Sam Westing, president of his company had devised a game in which to find someone with a good economical and smart mind so that they could take over his company. All of the heirs were brought together, each given another heir as a partner and a set of clues to try and solve the mystery of Sam Westing. While many of the things in the book don't quite match the movie there are still many similarities. …show more content…
The partners helped each other in many ways, like how Otis Amber helped Crow live a good life after becoming the ex- wife to Sam Westing. As well as, how Mr. Hoo and Grace Wexler were better parents after the game because of them talking to each other and helping parent each other's children from different perspectives children. The setting of where most things took place was similar as well like how most of the heirs lived in Sunset Towers which made them run into each other often. This helped each individual character grow and change from the interactions between them. Also this helped The Westing Game progress a lot. The Westing Game book and movie are similar but still slightly
The book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has a lot of similarities to the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory but not so many differences. On, the country the book had Willy Wonka wear a black top hat and a cane. But in the movie they had him wear a tan top hat and a cane. In the book dad had told them about the five golden tickets that are around the world. But in the movie a student from the classroom at school had told them about the five golden tickets that Willy Wonka had sent out.
In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
The westing game had strong determined characters to become Sam Westings heir. The winner Turtle Wexler (also known as Tabitha Ruth or T.R) won and became Sam Westing heir. The game had a strong purpose and reason. All though the book and movie were alike and different.
The Ender 's Game book and film are not similar. Andrew Wiggins “Ender” was chosen out of his two siblings to go to Battle School and fight off the buggers. He was chosen by Colonel Graff and Mazer Rackham to save mankind. The book was more enjoyable as a reader.
The movie did seem to exclude some characters that were somewhat important, and change their personality. For instance, in the book Grandpa Will was yelling at the television and in the movie he was more of a fun-loving guy. The fact that the movie never says the angel of death, except for one time at the end, in the book when they say this it puts an emphasis on that this thing or person is very corrupt. Not to mention the fact the main character, Hannah or Chaya, is a different age in the two stories.
The westing game does contain many explosives and murder that are worth reading for and watching for. More about The Westing Game is in this paragraph. The novel has a two hundred million dollar prize and there are three more heirs. The movie contains twenty million dollar prize. Like the story so far?

“ ‘Boom! It was a bomb’ said George Theodorakis”. (Raskin p. 81) Not in the movie it wasn’t. Instead it was a confetti popper in the movie. Making a movie out of the book changes how the story is because of time and money.

Throughout the book, Denton Deere changes from a timid and anxious man to a brave and confident individual who helps others. One quote that showcases this change is, "I'm going to do it. I'm going to help Chris.
Hatchet does a better job of telling the story. Hatchet has very descriptive and exciting words. Even though ‘A cry in the wild is a movie’, I think it could explain the movie better. Like have a more exciting, get you off the edge of the seat, kind of movie. For example,in the book i feel like the scences were shorter.
How the Production of the Wizard of Oz differs from the Novel Charles Baldwin The film and novel differ the most in their characterization and the honoring of the fairy tale rules. The first way that the film and the novel differ is in the characterization of the various characters in the tale. The novel briefly describes each character while the film gives all the major characters dual roles: one for reality and one for Dorothy's fantasy. For example in the book dorothy has magic slippers but they are silver and in the movie for more a shock to the audience for color the producers make the slippers are ruby colored.
