Compare And Contrast Malcolm X And Julius Caesar

I chose to compare Julius Caesar and Malcolm Little (Malcolm X) because they are both influential men in their own rights. Julius Caesar and Malcolm Little both sought power for the betterment of the people. They both were so focused on achieving power and goals to the point that they were blinded to the reality of self-destruction danger that was going on around them. The two men achievements to have an influential effect on other people lead to their deaths. Julius Caesar was born July 13th 100bc in Rome and died March 15th 44bc

When history repeats itself Throughout lesson two of English two part two I have studied Shakespeare's Tragedy of Julius Caesar. As the title would imply this is an incredibly written tragedy that highlights some of man’s worst personality traits, dirtiest actions, and ugliest betrayals as well as man’s undying softness, fragility, and pride. The themes of this play are truly ageless when one considers the events that surrounded the tragic death of Malcolm X hundreds of years after this play was written. The story of Julius Caesar and Malcolm X are so remarkably similar. Both were revered by many and masters of leadership and articulation.

The life experiences of Gandhi and Malcolm X have similarities. Malcolm X and Gandhi both have fought for civil rights in the countries that they both have lived. Gandhi did it by not listening and just doing what he pleased. Gandhi would get told not to do something and it would be perfectly legal but the British empire would arrest him for Civil Disobedience and then arrested again for sedition and sentenced to six years in prison. Malcolm X Ran into the same trouble Gandhi had, but was arrested for burglary and sentenced to 10 years in prison and got the nickname Satan for the teaching of hatred towards God and learned of the prophet Muhammad.

The most important decision of a leader is the style of leading they decide to use when inspiring others, or providing a vision for the future. By looking at the past, it is proven that some leadership styles are guaranteed to be more effective than others. The leadership style of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X during the Civil Rights provides significant evidence of how different styles of leading can turn out to be a major success or defeat. Malcolm X’s leadership style included using violence to protest against violence and unequal rights, as well as supporting the segregation of African Americans and the whites. Martin Luther King’s style included nonviolent marches and protests against violence, and peacefully fighting for integrating the blacks and whites.

Today I am going to explain the similarities between: Julius Caesar and Malcolm X. First, you need to know more about them!: Malcolm X 1925–1965 was an African-American Muslim minister and human rights activist. To his adorers he was a brave advocate for the rights of blacks, a man who prosecuted white Americans in the harshest terms for their crimes against black Americans; detractors accused him of preaching racism and violence. Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln were similar in a lot of ways. Both were very famous political figures known for dealing with civil wars amongst their countries. They also both supported the common people and wanted to advance their countries to be more modern. Caesar updated the Roman Calendar and contributed to many reforms that helped the common people of his empire. Lincoln was a supporter of stopping the expansion of slavery which won him the popularity of the northern states.

DBQ: Martin Luther King and Malcolm X: Rewrite During the 1960’s there was a greatly increased in violence in America. There were riots, bombings, racism, and discrimination. Many African American were mistreated due to the racist people who intervened the African Americans from doing anything. Two civil rights activists wanted change for African Americans and were both fighting for the same cause, civil rights.

Philosophical differences between martin luther king and malcolm X The philosophical differences between Martin Luther King and Malcolm X have to do with the their protest strategies. MLK never fought with violence. Although he would get physically attacked, he stood his ground and continued to fight for equality peacefully. King believed that whites and blacks should come together to end the hate and violence.

Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X are two profound African American figures in history. They both fought for equality and to better humanity. But, the tactics they used were very different. Their different views may have been rooted from the where they were raised. Martin Luther King Jr. grew up in a middle class family and received a very solid education.

When he joined the Nation of Islam, he changed his family name from “Little” to “X” as it was “a custom among Nation of Islam followers who considered their family names to have originated with white slaveholders” (1). He “became the minister of Temple No. 7 in Harlem and Temple No. 11 in Boston” (“Malcolm X Biography” 1). “An articulate public speaker, a charismatic personality, and an indefatigable organizer, Malcolm X expressed the pent-up anger, frustration, and bitterness of African Americans during the major phase of the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 to 1965”

Malcolm X was a Muslim minister who was also African American. He was a activist for human rights, Malcolm was a bold and courageous spokesperson for blacks to have rights,Malcolm X declared America “white America” to have the most harshest of terms for it’s tenacious treatments against African Americans. In the year 1946, he was sentenced to prison because he was caught breaking and entering. When he was incarcerated, he was chosen to become a member of the Nation of Islam. This is when he changed his birth name from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X. Later he had written,”Little was the name that the white slave master … had imposed upon paternal forebears” After his parole in 1952 his popularity grew and became the organization 's most influential leaders, and served as the public face of the controversial group for a dozen years.

Although Cassius and Brutus play significant roles in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, both men differ in their rank, views of justice, and possess contrasting personalities. Both men knew Caesar but differed in their motives to kill him. For example, the reader may view Brutus as a hero who desires fair treatment in Rome. Cassius may be looked upon as a manipulative and jealous man seeking to fulfill his own agenda. Despite Brutus’ decision to kill Caesar, it can be argued that he is a man of virtue while Cassius is a man of vice.

Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Neb. on May 19, 1925 to Earl and Louise Little, with the given name Malcolm Little. Two years later his father was assassinated, Malcolm assumed the KKK did it. After the tragedy the family was shipped off to foster homes due to the fact Malcolm’s mother suffered a nervous breakdown

King believed in “peace, no violence, and unity between all” (www.biography.com). In contrast, Malcolm X was all for violence. Malcolm X was born into a Muslim household. He relied heavily on his faith and was extremely influential towards pushing others to join the Islamic community. During his journey Malcolm X even “grew the Islamic population in America from 4,000 to 40,000 members by 1960” (www.biography.com), proving his dedication to the Muslim faith.

From the beginning of Malcolm X’s life he saw the injustices in the country of America, he was only a kid innocent to the world around him. His father was supposedly killed in a car accident, but Malcolm and his family believe that he was murdered by the Black Legion, which was a group of white racist. Even worse the officials claimed that his father had committed suicide, which prevented his family from inheriting the life insurance money. Furthermore, in the midst of all this happening to young Malcolm his mother began to go crazy and as a consequence, she got sent to a mental hospital.
