For example, the get to the department “shoes” it takes me one click on Macy’s website, while on Jcpenney’s website it requires two clicks. Even to access my account on Macy’s website it requires one click, you can hover over “My Account” where it allows you to click sign up or login. While on Jcpenney’s website it requires me to actually click my account, then it allows me to choose whether I would like to sign up or login, which results in two clicks. Factor 2: Speed Results After performing a website speed test on Macy’s and JcPenney’s website using webpagetest.org, the results state that JcPenney’s website is 0.645 seconds faster than Macy’s website. What is good about the way the macy's organizes it, is that there are plenty of options to click on so the customer has a better chance of receiving more direct help. I personally like what JcPenney does more. Instead of having to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page like Macy's.
