As a student, I strive for excellence. In middle school, I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society at Strong Foundations Charter School. As a sophomore, I have taken two math classes and gone without a study hall to be able to fulfill my academic desires. I have also taken Honors level classes since my first semester of high school and continuously make the honor roll. I aim to continue to take honors and AP classes to be able to reach my full potential as a student.

For those who don’t know, Show Choir is a very difficult art that gets a lot of hate for no reason. If you would take time to notice Show Choir and other sports are very similar. We will also go into the pros and cons of doing Show Choir to show how difficult art is.

Despite my passion for athletics, I have spent the majority of my high school career involved in show choir. I participate in the Executive Session at Sauk Prairie High School. Show choir incorporates training under professional choreographers, undergoing numerous voice lessons, and traveling the country for competitions. This self-disciplinary activity pushes me to work hard and strive for perfectionism while taking leadership roles in a professional environment. Furthermore, show choir allows me to impact others through my performance and to take risks.

Although my grades were not always consistent, I never earned less than a B for a final grade in my English courses. Often my instructors privately told me that my papers were the best in the class and shared my work with others. My writing secured me a free trip to London and Paris with my business club as well as my acceptance into multiple colleges. I am certain my extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, volleyball, community service projects, fundraisers and employment also played a vital role in these accomplishments. Of all the schools to which I applied, only VSU waitlisted me probably because of my phobia about standardized examinations, which caused me not to perform as well as I should have on the SAT.

Music has been around for ages and has been one of mankind 's greatest forms of entertainment and artistic expression. However, music is so much more than a simple source of entertainment for our enjoyment. Countless studies have been done that prove music programs in high schools have a direct positive impact on the minds of learning high schoolers. Despite the vast benefits that music programs yield in our nation 's high schools such as higher academic scores, positive mental health and the learning of skills that will help prepare students for life after high school, it is a sad fact that these programs are often the most underfunded. It is no surprise that when funds begin to dwindle the arts suffer first when in fact many do not realize how important they may be in the development of our country’s future generations.

Knowing how to sing is a blessing that may come naturally to some people, but to others it requires practice and effort to learn how to properly develop this gift. Having seen many live performances and having a dad who could sing was an inspiration for me to develop such a talent. Music has always been my passion, and I knew that singing would give me another exciting opportunity to enjoy the feeling performance creates. I did not have a natural voice from a young age so learning to sing was challenging and pushed me beyond my orchestral limits--emotionally and physically--but with the strong desire I had and the toil I was willing to endure when learning this art, I persevered to becoming a singer.

One of the things that influenced me to apply here for the School of Dramatic arts was how it made me feel. Going to USC on the tour made me feel amazing because i had an extremely good feeling being there. I had been on other tours however when i went to USC it was a different feeling because i felt like i belonged there and i had a great feeling of needing to go there. When i looked into the Dramatic Arts Department i fell in love with what i was finding.

The time had come to start thinking about musical auditions. I had waited a long time for this day. My goal was to get a lead in the school musical. It was announced that our musical this year would be Legally Blonde. I had practiced for a long time beginning with voice lessons with Mr. Hurley once a week and listening to the songs on my own.
