With over 150 confirmed kills during his 10 years on duty, Kyle has shed light to many of the dangerous life of being a sniper. Each year Kyle would meet new people and have even more to protect. As Kyle was walking past a military recruitment office, interested in joining the Marine Corps, a Navy recruiter pulled him into his office. After hearing what the man had to say, Kyle thought long and hard about joining the Navy instead and wanted to give it a try. Howard Wasdin was beaten as a child by his stepfather and it made him want to pursue the dream of becoming a Navy seal. Becoming best of the best is not as easy as everyone thinks. Wasdin did not enjoy the long terrible training but as he said “My experiences weren’t always enjoyable, but they were always adrenaline-filled!” (Wasdin 97). Later on he went to study agriculture for two years at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, before he left for a job as a ranch hand. Eventually his lifelong interest in the military led him to the Navy in 1999. He then quickly gained admittance to the SEALS, which is a forces elite special operations unit. It’s an unwritten rule that we want you here three years before you go to sniper school.” A week later his chief would tell Wasdin and his buddy, Casanova that they were being sent to sniper school.

When people think of World War II they normally think about people fighting through forests or big bombs being dropped. When Chris Kyle was a senior in high school, he became a professional bull rider. He had grown up on a ranch and was consequently around animals all the time and he would have to tame many of the new ones that would come in. Through this he learned patience which later helped him become a better SEAL. About the start of Chris Kyle’s senior year of high school, he did his first ever rodeo where he won prize money. From there on out, he began to ride bulls and compete in rodeos more and more.
According to the film and book “American Sniper", Chris only felt bad about the lives he couldn 't save, not the ones he did. He had no problem killing the enemy but could not bear to see his fellow servicemen be killed. Many marines look up to him as a savior because he was their only protection when walking down hostile streets. Enemy soldiers would hide and ambush so Kyle would prevent them from ambushing.

Vasily has had some harrowing moments in his life, but he has always come out alive and strong.
