Imagine the feeling of graduating college and finally getting the job you’ve always dreamed of. So to me, college is worth it. Yes, it will suck to pay for everything and study for tests or lose much-needed sleep, but I know I won’t regret not going to college and not getting my dream job. I will go to college and be successful.

I 'm not a native of Pennsylvania. Anyone can tell that from my intense love of snow and fall, two things you couldn 't find in a South Florida city like where I lived, where temperatures were always high and foliage stayed the same year round. If you were born in Pennsylvania, you grew up hearing people tell stories of hitting a deer at night meanwhile I grew up hearing stories of people finding alligators in their backyard. Most people know what it 's like to move to a new place, whether it 's a new town, state or country, however, I feel my dramatic move along with the circumstances surrounding it are unique. It taught me that you can make the best out of even the worst situations.

College. Time is one of the most valuable things we have in this life. Why waste the time on a college when you 're not even sure of graduating .While many parents would disagree with the idea of not going to college, the research shows “Over 25% of students who enroll in college do not return for the second year. ”(Schneider).

I have always regretted dropping out of college. I had to decide what was more important to me. Trying to get a higher education to help me succeed in the workforce. Or try to save my marriage which was in shambles.

Before my sophomore year I found out that I was pregnant with my son. I decided to take a year away from school to embrace being a new mom before going back to school. Being a new mom and working I found it very hard to go back in the classroom so I a decided to finish out school online. I begun online classes at Everest College online. During this time I also relocated to Albany New York where I obtained my Associate degree in Business administration from Everest College online.

Something such as returning back to school was long gone and in my past goals. After a couple of years I never thought I would end up going back to school since everything that I wanted was going good and according to plan. However sometimes we are faced with tough situations where we must find other resources in order to improve and better ourselves. Going back to school was one of the most important and wise decisions that I have ever made. Finding well-qualified candidates for a job or career nowadays is a challenge, especially in the field that I am currently in; law enforcement.

Finding motivation to attend college is easy, keeping the motivation to finish is the difficult part. I decided to enroll in college to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. I hope that the degree will give me the opportunity to apply for a better position within the organization that I currently work for. A secondary goal of returning to school is to demonstrate to my son that attending college is required for many jobs and that returning to school as an adult has various difficult challenges. I have been working for the past nine years as an Assistant Financial Officer and am highly competent at my job.

One of the main issues that has influenced where I attend school is money. I took most of my prerequisites at a community college to save for nursing school. My parents saved very little money as my mother could not work and my father was a high school janitor. I have worked since I was 15, as a tutor, retail and whatever I could qualify for throughout high school and during my college years. However, most of the money I earned was allotted for tuition and came from financial aid and loans.
