To Lead Myself In the Third Chapter of Greg Hastings’s book Leadership Lessons from West Point – “You Must Lead Yourself First” he talks about three lessons he learnt in leadership during his time as a cadet – each at a different stage in his Cadet career. Leadership is the action of leading a group or organization. To be an effective leader one must be honest, trustworthy, and contain a large amount of integrity. The traits and qualities of an effective leader were taught to me during my time in JROTC. JROTC stresses its core values of honor, courage, and commitment to all of its members.
