Boyz N The Hood Reaction

Of all the terrible events in history, the Holocaust may be the worst of them all. This tragedy was so terrible, I cannot think of the ones who instigated it as human beings. It was against many morals and standards that the world views today as common ethics. The most terrible part of this is, perhaps, how today’s new and younger generations are not sufficiently educated about this disaster. Although many younger generations do not know about the Holocaust, it’s importance should be emphasised in today’s society to learn from it, to realize that every human life is important, and to appreciate the blessings of the present day.

The film Boyz N’ the hood follows the lives of a group of young African American men growing up in the hood where poverty, crime and violence are rampant. The three main characters are Darin (Dough boy), Ricky (Darin’s brother), and Tre. In this this film there are many schools of criminology’s that help explain the roots of the criminality portrayed.

Towards the beginning of this movie, many blacks were looking at the white men with hatred for raping and nearly killing a ten year old black girl. The men transformed the innocent little girl’s life forever. The men were instantly

Not every Black kid does drugs. And finally not every Black kid is a troublemaker. Spike Lee knew that many of the people that would go to his movies wouldn’t be Black, and he successfully showed the audience an accurate representation. This representation was revolutionary because it made you as an audience member question how you think and feel about Black youth. Maybe you’ve become biased by recent films and music.

I still have the image of Emmet Uncle’s scared eyes when he was testifying at court. He was afraid that he could become a victim of blindness and revenge, just like his cousin did. I cannot forget the eyes of a proud black woman who finally got to sit on the front row of a bus. It’s amazing that such small things can make people happy. I believe that this movie’s goal is not only to educate us on the history of United States, but also to urge us to think progressively, and to believe that hard work is always rewarded, as long as you have a dream and your intentions are

In the movie “Boyz N The Hood”, many things contributed to the outcomes of the characters Tre, Ricky, and Doughboy (Darren). Tre’s parents used the authoritative parenting styles. While he was with his mother he signed a contract that if he got in any more trouble he would have to go live with his father. When he came to live with his father, he was given chores to do around the house and he had no choice, but to do them. Furious expected Tre to do well in school and respect those around him.

Another aspect is that fighting amongst each gang is fostering a criminal environment. Throughout the book and when Mitchel turned his life around by contact of becoming friends with Elias Batrouney, I related with him, Mitchel. It has encouraged me to take a serious view of my life on what I wanted to do with my life and vocation, starting my apprenticeship in a school environment. Brendon Wild P.3 I enjoyed reading this book as the characters are boys and it is written in an area of controversy.

John Singleton’s film, Boyz N the Hood, displays the challenging upbringing of adolescents who have to live with harsh conditions around not only their home but also their surrounding town. The film compares the differences between the lifestyles of Tre Styles and his friends’, Darren and Ricky Baker. Darren and Ricky are half-brothers who are nothing alike. Singleton demonstrates the importance of male leadership in a home in the ghetto of Los Angeles by comparing the difference between the lifestyles of Tre and his friends. While many adolescents in the hood have close friendships, some form close relationships by assembling gangs and create a world of violence due to alcohol abuse, which together ultimately breeds discrimination.

As the story begins, Louie is a young boy who is constantly in trouble in his town, stealing money, food, smoking, drinking and getting into fights. “Thrilled by the crashing of boundaries, Louie was untamable” (Hillenbrand 7). His brother, Pete sees a talent in him that even Louie does not see.

The movie “Boyz N’ the Hood” is a story centered on the issues that are seen in the urban areas of Los Angeles every day. Tre (the main character) is raised in a way that seems to be correct but he still ends up being a part of criminal activity. While watching this film in an academic setting it is easy to see the social and political reform messages that are being communicated to the audience. On the political side it is easy to see the race and ethnicity of the film maker while on the social side the audience can tell the filmmaker is spreading a message. All together “Boyz N’ the Hood” is a very good film that depicts the type of stuff that happens in the poorer parts of Los Angeles.

This movie takes place in South Central Los Angeles California where a crippling neighborhood sits just next to some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in California. It is in this documentary that they study how such a poor community can exist and how crime has riddle the streets to stay a community. The beginning of the movie talks about its once thriving area. There was this informal social control in which people could connect with one another. At one-point communities thrived on big businesses like Firestone and Chrysler but when these companies shut down and moved elsewhere these people with blue collar jobs could no longer get an education and were left with no opportunity to succeed.

The film starts out with an African American man walking in the suburbs. He sees a car and is frightened. A person in a hood strangles him from behind and kidnaps him. This illustrates the fear African Americans have in a white society. The movie then fasts forwards to New York City and turns the focus on Chris who is a successful young photographer.
