the historical events that i learned was that i did in my history class was that i learned about the boston tea party. The reason why i chose the boston tea party was that i think that it played an important role in what made america in the beginning. The boston tea party was when the sons of liberty where going to make sure that the british were going to leave them alone so the poured out all the tea into the boston harbor. The colonist would try to team up with the indians to help them even out the numbers because the were out numbered by hundreds of troops. But the indians refused to help the colonist because they thought that they would be betrayed and the colonist would kill them.

To start off, the Intolerable Acts were a part of the effects of the Boston Tea Party. They were basically a punishment from Britain to the colonists

The Boston Tea Party was one of the ways in which the colonists started revolting against the British. It took place on the Boston harbour and is therefore called the Boston Tea Party. Due to these rebellious actions the British created the coercive acts of 1774. This was use to punish American colonist and Boston for things such as riots and the Boston tea party to be specific. The coercive acts were also known as the “Intolerable acts”. After all this madness came the Declaration of Independence. Which freed all thirteen American colonies from the British government.

In 1607, the first colonists arrived in the new world,today, known to us as America. This colony was the Jamestown colony. Eventually more colonists came and created bigger colonies like the massachusetts colony In 1774, upset by the boston tea party and other blatant acts british Parliament passed a law intended to punish the people of massachusetts for their resistance. This act was called the Coercive act.

In 1763, Britain started to force the colonies to pay taxes even though they greatly opposed. The French and Indian War debt, although Britain won, was one of the first reasons taxes were increased. Secondly in 1764, the Sugar Act was passed. Unalike Walpole’s salutary neglect policy, these new taxation on sugar and molasses was enforced, upsetting the colonials. And in 1765 the Stamp Act put taxes on paper goods which upsetted the colonials more.

Great Britain closed the Boston Harbor and put the government of Boston under strict British rule; these acts limited the political and terrestrial freedom of the colonists. The laws for the Intolerable acts were: Boston Port act (Mar. 31st), Massachusetts Bay regulating act (May. 20th ), The Impartial administration of Justice Act (May. 20th), Quartering act (Jun. 2nd) and the Quebec act (Jun. 22nd ). The first four of the Acts were precisely designed at punishing the Massachusetts colonists for the incident at the Boston Harbor, the fifth act was linked to Quebec and was seen as an additional warning. The Boston Port Act was where Britain demanded that the town’s residents pay the price for the tea that was dumped into Boston Harbor. Massachusetts Bay regulations act altered the Massachusetts charter and reduced the colony's right to self-govern.

(The Sons of Liberty were a gang of the patriotic colonists). Seeing that the colonists weren’t glad and opposing the Tea Act. Colonist actions made the parliament angry and disrespected. The royal parliament decided to take a serious step ahead and enforced them the intolerable act. The Intolerable Acts as you know were in response to the Boston Tea Party.

The event was used by colonial leaders to rally support for the American Revolution and to undermine British authority. The Boston Massacre was also a factor in the passage of the Coercive Acts, which were a series of harsh laws imposed by the British government to punish the colonies for their role in the event. The Coercive Acts closed the port of Boston, restricted town meetings, and allowed British officials accused of crimes to be tried in England instead of in the colonies. These acts angered the colonists and led to increased tensions between the British soldiers and the colonists, ultimately leading to the events of the Boston Massacre. These acts were important in leading to this event happening.

In this unit, we had learned about the American Revolution. Some of the major topics we covered were the role of women, the role of slaves, the role of Native Americans, the roles of France, the life as a soldier and some of the major battles. The woman often held and engaged in boycotts, they were cooks/nurses in the army, some were spies and one woman named Deborah Sampson dressed up as a man to help fight in the army. The slaves ran away from their colonial masters to join as a Britain soldier because if they did they were promised freedom after the war. The free Africans had tried to promote that colored people should be freed by joining the colonist's side.

American Revolution Suppose the British had not taxed the colonies to raise money to pay for the wars. Would there still have been an American Revolution? Taxes were not the only problem between the colonists and Britain. The colonists were used to governing themselves. The 13 colonies were too far away and would have become too large for England to control.

Another Act was the Massachusetts Government Act. The act was designed to punish the residents of Boston for the incident of the Boston Tea Party. Another Act was the Boston Port Act in which the king shut down the port of Boston to all trade separately from that with Britain until they pay back all of the tea that was lost. Another Act was the Administrations of Justice Act, this allowed British officials to get away with almost any crime they have done. The colonists called this the ‘’Murder Act’’ because they were worried that the British officials would be able to slaughter crowds without any trial.

The Coercive Acts also known as the intolerable Acts by the colonists was a series of laws passed by parliament as a way to punish the colony of Massachusetts in response to the Boston Tea Party. The Coercive Acts included several intensive measures designed to hurt the colonies until Massachusetts paid for the tea that the colonist had dumped during the Boston tea party. Because of that one of the most devastating provisions was the Boston Port Act, which saw British ships shut down the port of Boston until the colonists paid them back. Boston’s economy crashed without the ability to trade forcing the other colonies to react and create the Resolves of the First Continental

The Tea Party movement is an American political movement known for its conservative positions and its role in the Republican Party. Members of the movement have called for a reduction of the U.S. national debt and federal budget deficit by reducing government spending, and for lower taxes. The movement opposes government sponsored universal healthcare and has been described as a mixture of libertarian, populist, and conservative activism. It has sponsored multiple protests and supported various political candidates since 2009.

The colonists tried to tell the British that they did not like the law and they didn’t listen so the colonists tipped lots of the British tea into the harbor to show they really don’t like the law. The Intolerable Acts began when the British hoped to force the colonists for the tea lost in the harbor and to obey British rule. The Coercive Acts closed the port of Boston and imposed military rule on all of Massachusetts. The colonists could not tolerate the acts.
