Book Reports On Night By Elie Wiesel

Night by Elie Wiesel is a book describing the 9 months he spent at the concentration camps. In the book Elie is 15 years old when his family and him are separated and sent to the concentration camps. During the book Elie stays with his father throughout until his father dies but he is separated from his mother and three sisters. Elie’s littlest sister and his mother were killed but years after the camps were liberated Elie found his two older sisters and met up with them. From November to April 1945 he spent 9 months in the camps.

The book called “Night” is a great book to read about survival of the fittest. The book was written by a man named Elie Wiesel and was about his experience during the Holocaust. His book has some interesting parts about how he and other Jews saw the Holocaust before and after they were taken to concentration camps. Before the Jews were taken to the camps, they thought that since the war was so far away and was going to end soon, they were safe. That soon changed because they had the chance to run and hide, but did not take it.

The book, Night, by Elie Wiesel is a memoir about the dreadful Holocaust in which Wiesel survived. The Wiesel family consisted of Elie, his two older sisters, Hilda and Bea, and younger sister, Tzipora, and parents. The family lived in the town of Sighet, Transylvania before they were shipped off to war but were then relocated to a ghetto at the beginning of the Holocaust. Elie met Moshe the Beadle in 1941 when he was about thirteen years old. Moshe the Beadle was a shtibl who was transported to one of the camps before some of the other Jews and was shot and pretended to be dead so that he could escape and return home to warn the other Jews about such occurrences but they would not listen to him.

The book Night is a very descriptive book about the holocaust and the man who wrote the book Elie Wiesel has showed the cruelty that people can be but also shows how people still resist to what was happening to them not a mass of people but enough for him to notice. “A violin in a dark barrack where the dead were piled on top of the living? Who was this madman who played the violin here, at the edge of his own grave?” (Wiesel 95). The person who played the violin was a kid around the same age as Elie named Juliek.

The book “Night”, written in 1960 by Elie Wiesel, is an autobiography that shows his experience with his father Shlomo during the Holocaust in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps. This book is very popular and controversial due to its accurate account of the horrors which occurred during the Holocaust. Throughout the book, Elie Wiesel shows the themes “ Humans are capable of unimaginable evil” and “ The bond between a father and his son is very important” using deep symbolism and word choice.   In the book Night, Idek is the leader of Elie and his father's work unit and is known by many Jewish prisoners for his frequent bursts of rage.

In the memoir Night was written by Elie Wiesel in 1955, 10 years after the events happened. This book is about the Holocaust, there were about 4-6 million victims of the Holocaust. The Holocaust happened between the years 1933 and 1945. Elie was a survivor of the Holocaust and wrote this memoir of the tragic events that happened to him and other people. In the first three chapters of this story, Wiesel tells about the way his life was changed and he was dehumanized and left with nothing of his old life.

Elie Wiesel is a fifteen year old boy who believes in God. Elie Wiesel then gets taken to the Holocaust of 1941-1945. As he goes going through the Holocaust Elie Wiesel is losing everything he's ever known. Elie Wiesel loses his faith in God, and turns from a boy to a man. All he can do is try to survive as long as he can, doing anything he can.

The book I read was Night written by Elie Wiesel this book takes place at Nazi concentration camps called Auschwitz and Buchenwald during the Holocaust. Elie Wiesel's main reason in writing Night was to show the world what he expierenced and to show what destruction mankind can do to each other. I also believe Wiesel wrote Night to prevent the horrific things that happened during the Holocaust to happen again. Another reason I think Wiesel wrote Night was to remember all the people that died at the hands of the Nazis so they can not be forgotten. Imagine seeing a pit full of dead babies used as target practice for the german soldiers. Well during the holocaust the Jew’s and Elie Wiesel experienced this. The Holocaust was a genocide during World War 2 in which Nazi Germany, aided by its collaborators, systematically murdered approximately 6 million Europeans Jews. These people were put in camps, separated from theirre family;, they had camps just for men and women they were seperated. All the children that aren't healthy and strong they would kill them and the babies were used as shooting practice.

The subject is the overall main topic of a book, therefore the subject in night is the holocaust. Night by Elie Wiesel is a book about what the went through during the holocaust. The book takes the reader through the holocaust in a way. The book has a way of describing how the holocaust was. He writes about what he has been through and all the people he met along the way.

Elie Wiesel suffered many afflictions during his time held captive in German concentration camps, from being dehumanized to starved, his experiences changed his entire life. His autobiography, Night, portrays his horrific struggles during World War II. Elie Wiesel certainly deserves his biography; out of the millions who were sent to these terrible death camps, he not only survived, but went on to inspire millions as an author, philosopher, and public speaker. Elie was a religious fifteen year old boy living in Sighet, but when his town was overtaken by the Germans, his life turned upside down.

The book I chose to read, “Night”, was named after Elie Wiesel’s darkest time period in his life. When Elie was young, he was enslaved by the Nazi’s. In the novel, Elie tells us how harsh conditions were for the Jews and what they had to experience. After the Holocaust, he was inspired to write about the concentration camps that he stayed at and what he experienced while he was in the death camp. I chose to read this book because I wanted to learn more about the Holocaust and what the Jewish people had to experience.

---Rough Draft--- While we probably all know that the Holocaust was a horrible stain on the fabric of society, Elie Wiesel's book shows that the acts of the Nazi's are more horrible towards the Jews than some of us may have been led to believe. Elie originates from a town known as Sighet located in what was previously known as Transylvania. Though Sighet was not part of Germany or Hungary, they were still abused by the SS soldiers, by trapping them in fenced off ghettos. They also soon transported them in a terrible cattle car ride, and treated them like slaves. But the meat of the story takes place in the concentration camp(s), where they are given minimal amounts of food and judged like dogs to see if they are worth keeping.

Introduction At first glance, Elie Wiesel looks like an average elder gentleman. Once I opened the first page of Elie Wiesel’s book Night, my perspective on Elie changed. The tone of the story within the first few pages reveals that Elie is no average man. Wiesel’s emotions are strong on the pages of his book, but even more powerful when he speaks. The pain that Elie felt while he was in Auschwitz is apparent in his voice as he walks through the camp with Oprah.
