Dr. King was able to change many places like Montgomery, Alabama. MLK had a way with words and was able to express his thoughts unlike most. MLK was in charge of many well known marches such as the Selma to Montgomery march. Throughout King's life, he worked to help minorities have a role in the society. Dr. King wanted to see a place where the race of a person was not a problem. King believed that with hard work, one day blacks and whites would be able to live in harmony with one another ("How Did Martin Luther King's"). MLK wanted the public to be aware of the racism that existed in the world. He knew that it was time someone did something about getting equal rights for everyone ("Martin Luther King, Jr."). Dr. King made it where the world was no longer separated by the colors of skin, but now where everyone was equal no matter the race. MLK was a voice to the African-Americans that was able to move mountains for them ("How Did Martin Luther King's"). Dr. King influenced the …show more content…
King was able to carry out this. MLK was a man who was determined to make the world the beautiful place it was really supposed to be. In history there are many protests that are led dealing with equality for all, but King used nonviolent peaceful protests to get his point across. Montgomery, Alabama was forever changed by Dr. King after his help with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. MLK knew how to express his thoughts very well and was able to draw in many with his "I Have a Dream" speech. King led a 54 mile long march from Selma to Montgomery to help African-Americans be granted the right to
Dr.King wanted all African Americans to be treated equally, he wanted freedom for his brothers and sisters. He urged people to stand up and push for freedom in a nonviolent way but the road to freedom was not easy. You had to be willing to lay down your life even if it meant you could end up dead, he states “Others have marched with us down nameless streets of the South. They have languished in filthy, roach-infested jails, suffering the abuse and brutality of angry policemen...” (King 274) Dr. King describes the experiences of what they had to endure, these are the experiences the people who joined him had to face.
He was an activist that made a significant impact on the world and especially America because he fought for his cause when segregation was an important thing in the US. A big time that he stood up for his and a lot of colored people's rights was at the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965 and this was an important protest because it was a bunch of people fighting for the right to vote. Also, Martin Luther King got shot on April 4, 1968, in a hotel at 6:05 when he was standing outside on the balcony of his hotel room. James Earl Ray was the guy that shot him, and he did it because he thought that the colored should not have any rights and he did not like that he was making change in the US. Martin Luther King supports this quote because he fought for years and years and he finally got what he was working for.
He used peaceful protests to get his word out. MLK knew that compassion was the key to success. He knew that if they
I already knew that MLK spoke out for his peoples rights. MLK was brave leader, who spoke out against unfair rules. He wanted peace, freedom, and fair treatment for everyone. Before he started to speak out against their treatment, MLK was a baptist minister at his church.
Martin Luther King also demonstrated leadership ability when he also put his well-being on the line and not only took part of the civil rights marches but led them. He inspired others to follow because he made a personal commitment for his cause. The inspiration and the hope he gave was to all people not just one race. He gave people hope that one day that all people will be treated equally and be judged by their character. Martin Luther King was defiant as his home was bombed in 1956 and he continued with his dream showing his never give up attitude.
Martin Luther King Jr. is seen as one of the most influential people in the civil rights movement, He brought forth change and was one of the leaders and forth runner of the movement to end segregation and give all equal rights. Whenever or wherever King went or spoke the reaction was always seen, heard, and powerful, he had established a following that was always ready to listen and was ready to cooperate in whatever needed to be done to help further the movement. When King was asked to help with marches in Birmingham his heart and compassion lead him to go to Birmingham ready to change and bring justice. When he was jailed after the march through Birmingham, the letter he sent from his cell in April of 1963 redefined the way people looked at the desegregation movement and how
Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He had a dream that was shared by so many citizens of the United States, both black and white. His dream included equality and justice for people of all races. In order to make this dream a reality, Martin Luther King Jr. took a stand and encouraged others to do the same. He took a stand so that all people could experience liberty, happiness, and kindness.
With actions of civil disobedience and nonviolence he worked to fulfill his dream of racial equality. This dream was expressed in King’s “I Have a Dream” speech which he presented in Washington D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial in1963. His dream was to see his black children hold white children hands and that his children would not be judged because they are black but by who they are inside (Doc G). The purpose behind giving this speech was to present to all of America the key message that all people are created equal, even though this was not true during the movement, King believed that it could be in the future or next generation. King wanted everyone to be a part of his dream and help in become reality (Purpose).
Martin Luther King Jr. inexplicably opened the eyes of Americans across the nation with his role in the movement and his use of resonating imagery, excellent emotional appeal, powerful voice, and evocation of logic in his “I Have a Dream” speech. With such an enthralling rhetoric he gained a vast amount of support and exponentially increased the pride in standing up for what’s righteous and just. Exemplifying the throes of being a colored person, King evoked sympathy whilst simultaneously applying the valid logic that no human should be subjected to lesser standards. His rhetoric wholly changed American history that day and thus conveyed his ability to maintain equanimity throughout all of the
He wasn’t a violent man and didn’t want to kill people for his freedom. A lot of people didn’t want violence so that inspired them. Dr.King inspired people by also showing that everyone has a voice. It doesn’t matter who
Martin Luther King was a Civil Rights activist. He spoke on behalf of millions of African-Americans around the nation in search of a complete freedom. He spoke on behalf of African-Americans who wanted to sit in the same place as their white peers, speak without getting that glare only a white supremacist could give when in the presence of a minority, have laws that protected them like the laws that protected the majority did. In his marches, and public papers and letters, King spoke of theses injustices. In his Letter from Birmingham Jail, King describes just and unjust laws.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil right activist who fought for the right and equality of African American citizens. In his speech, he stressed that nonviolence was a more effective way to success. One of the rhetorical devices that was key was his persona. His persona showed his followers that with patience and persistence change will come. In his speech, King spoke about the march in Birmingham, Alabama, where he and his friend Bull Connor lead.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character”. Dr King had a vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to to live their lives. The efforts of King and those who liked him have, in fact , changed the country and the world for the better in noticeable ways . His vision has made the world a more equal place , if not an equal one, and it helped to ensure that minorities have a voice. A second impact Martin luther King did to change the country was in 1955 he became heavily notice in Montgomery and the Alabama boycott of the city buses.
He grew up with a deeply rooted determination to obtain equal rights for all American citizens. He led many protests and gave extremely motivating speeches that eventually made him the most known Civil Rights leader. “Martin Luther King Jr. emerged as the head of a movement for justice and equality that branched out from Montgomery and swept through the south” (ramsees7). This established the success in his accomplishments within the marches
