1. What do you think Bill and Melinda Gate’s personality traits are for each of the Big Five dimensions? Compare the two.
The purpose of big five is to categorize the personality traits into different dimensions which can help us to understand better how people behave to others and how react in their life. The Big Five Model of Personality categorizes traits in different dimensions such as Surgency, adjustment, conscientiousness, and openness to experience (Lussier, 2013). Based on the theory I will try to analyze some of the personality traits of Bill and Melinda Gates. First, the dimension which characterizes both of them is Surgency or in other words according to the Lussier Dominance. We can easily understand that Bill Gates is a person who wants to have the control in a situation and he wants every time to be in charge. When Bill was in an executive position at Microsoft has been create some meetings which as well known as ‘’Bill Meetings’’ where he presented his thoughts and he listened all of them trying to them challenges in order solve problems. One the other hand Melinda was the youngest woman recruit in Microsoft and the only woman in among MBAs, this show to us that Melinda was competing with man for a higher position and wanted to be in charge in order to achieve her goals. The introduction Clara Barton is one of the nursing leaders that shaped history (Kerfoot 1998). Clara Barton will be the main focus of this assignment as she was a remarkable woman who started off as an educator and then a clerk and then a nurse and then one of the founders of Red Cross in America. In a time when women were not educated and were not even offered jobs she worked side by side with men. She was from the Not for Profit Sector. Her field was Nursing and she tackled with providing healthcare to those in natural disasters or war.

Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world, yet he is also one of the most selfless; a very rare trait for most billionaires. Bill Gates impacted America with the invention of an easy operating system so that everyone in the country could use a computer, and with the charities he donated to with the money he made from his company. Bill Gates’ main impact on society was making computers available and easy to use for everyone. Before computers were something people carried around in their pockets, they were very complicated machines that only trained people could use. Bill Gates’ company, Microsoft changed this by making them personal.
This framework became “The Big Five Model” which was developed by several sets of researchers but later extended by J.M Digman and Lewis Goldberg in 1990. The Big Five Model includes openness to experience, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, and neuroticism.
Emotional related dimension mostly concerned with personal attributes and attitudes includes self-belief and confidence, not taking things personally, sense of humor, ability to bounce back, emotion regulation. Social dimension mostly shaped by factors such as asking others for assistance, interpersonal skills, ability to take advice from others, professional and personal support

Big Five Personality Traits The five personality dimensions OCEAN are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism. This were defined as follow, according to Crissy (2011), Openness is the capability of appreciating art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, imagination, curiosity, and variety of experience. The characteristics such as imagination and insight, and those high in this trait also tend to have a broad range of interests were the traits feature in this dimension. Next is Conscientiousness this is the persons tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; planned rather than spontaneous behavior..
