Did you know that more sharks are killed yearly by people than shark attacks to humans? Well Bethany Hamilton was very lucky and unlucky at the same time. She was also very inspiring to a lot of people because of what happened to her. She was attacked by a shark and lost her arm which is very unlucky, but she’s also very lucky she left the beach alive. Bethan Hamilton showed great resilience in overcoming a shark attack in order to achieve her surfing dream.
Bethany was very positive the whole time she was in and out of the hospital. She tried harder and put effort into her struggles. She stayed strong and acted like her surfing career has just started. She never changed when she lost her arm it was just an excuse to do more. Therefore she told her parents not sorrow and worry about her arm because it doesn’t change who she is and how she acts.

She never gave up and that’s within a month. Although she was already athletic, she became better at surfing after the attack. She became so good even with one arm that she became a pro surfer and won many awards.
Bethany also has a lot of courage. She acted like she didn’t need an arm to live her life. She met all her life goals and more with only one arm. She is also very inspiring and thoughtful. Therefore she went back into the water and became a pro surfer.

Bethany Hamilton did not see her loss of an arm as a disability or a burden, instead she thought of herself as unique from everyone else. This shows that Hamilton’s dream positively affected her because she truly wanted to become a professional, so she worked her hardest to make that dream a reality. She did not let other people’s opinions to deteriorate her; instead she thought positively and kept her mind towards becoming a professional surfer. After a month, she lost ten pounds! She looked astonishing and everyone showered her in compliments. Additionally, she proved to several people that through diligence and determination, anything is possible. Still, she was convinced that she had more toil to do. So here she went, elevating her expectations for weight loss, cutting down on her diet severely and exercising for hours upon hours.
Later on she had a movie called, ‘Soul Surfer’ made about her experience. Throughout her life she has appeared in many other shows and television shows called ‘Dolphin Tale 2,’ ‘The Amazing Race’, and ‘Good Morning America.’ She is now twenty seven years old and married. If Bethany had not overcome the obstacles in her life and been determined to start surfing again, one can imagine that she would not have had the fame and success that she is currently experiencing. She has inspired many people to fight through problems in their life, and Bethany is living proof that if people never give up and are determined to reach their goals, then they will reach them and have major success in the future.
