Leadership What did it take for Beowulf to be considered a leader? To be considered a leader, Beowulf was courageous, intelligent, and confident. These characteristic qualities were shone throughout the story in multiple ways. “Through his own strength and in his capacity as role model, Beowulf ensures that his band and tribe achieve their goals” (Loughman). Beowulf was a role model and charismatic leader to his people. Beowulf was courageous. He fought many enemies and did not back down.
