Being involved in many activities in high school, from athletics to fine arts, has taught me how to work well with others as well as work hard under pressure. One of the many organizations I have been involved in while in high school is student council. I am currently serving my third year as student council president for my class and in doing so it has taught me leadership and organization. Student council calls for many responsibilities and opportunities including, service projects for the community, planning a variety of events for the school, and planning major events such as homecoming and prom. Planning and organizing events has given me the opportunity to communicate and meet new people. It has also given me the courage to reach out

A prime example was when I was the secretary of the Battle of the Books team. Not only was the secretary, but I was the oldest member of the team. That was one of my earliest positions of leadership and where I learned the significance of reliability. My ambition was to contribute to everything I did in various ways. The following year I participated in a total of eight different school clubs, most of them happened simultaneously.
There are many reasons I believe I should be inducted into National Honors Society. First, I maintain an A grade average. Second, I am a leader in my school and community. Third, I am very active with actives in and out of school. These are all great qualities to have.
My freshman year I joined the student government program at my school and I’ve been apart of it ever since. I find student government to be my new soccer. Just like in soccer, every term there is new kids. Some kids walk into the class having never been apart of a leadership class before. In order to prepare
By taking on leadership roles such as being president of environmental club and public relations of class council, I am a mentor to others all while sharing the same interests and providing opportunities for them to build their own character. Prior to this school year, I was fortunate enough to attend a weeklong event called Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, where I lived there for a week surrounded by young leaders from all over south jersey. In this experience, I learned that being a leader means being understanding of others and their situations. With this experience I was able to bring back what I learned to my own communities like environmental club. Not only do I have to be organize and communicative, but I also have to be a role model to members of a club by showing my own good character.
My ultimate endeavor since attending community college has been my involvement in school, specifically with Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. As an engineering major I am limited to a diminutive amount of free time, due to the quantity and difficulty of my classes. However, this limitation and the fact that my ride to school is a two hour trip on public transportation, has not stopped me from participating in extracurricular activities. Applying my time management and responsibility skills that I acquired from taking several math base classes at the same time, I managed to become a member of clubs and attain leadership roles. I first became the Vice President of Service, for Phi Theta Kappa and organized service events on campus and outside of campus.
I was the vice-president and the nursing club student council representative while in Montgomery College. I formulated and implemented some policies pertaining to the club. I developed a mentorship program for freshmen. Moreover, I set up a program of feeding the poor in the nearby shelter. I am currently the group leader of the education shared governance committee.
Being prepared and organized help to maintain a good positive image, which is part of being a good role model. My leadership could be attributed to the many years I have been in voluntary work. Also, I am involved in extracurricular activities such as varsity soccer, membership in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), key club, and Family Career and Community Leader of America (FCCLA). FBLA and FCCLA have given me the opportunity to see the business world and to lead as president of the organizations and key club has provided me with opportunities to be a great volunteer and gain community involvement. Some of these opportunities include working with the elderly at the local nursing home and assisting with local food pantry.
I am also a member of our school 's student council. I have been our class president for three consecutive years. Not only is this an honor, but it is also a grave responsibility. I have to take requisite action for certain things, while also considering other people 's opinions in a reverent and positive way. In student council, we must continuously propose ideas to better certain aspects of our school for our student body.
Eventually, I felt comfortable enough with myself to apply to become a chapter officer. Becoming more involved in the organization through leadership allowed me to get involved in and lead projects and become more active in other organizations. Through the various community service projects that I been involved in with several extracurricular groups, I realized that I want to establish a career organizing programs to help those in
Student Council serves as the voice for the students. They promote a sense of engagement between the student body and the school itself while providing a deeper connection besides academics in which the students can participate in. I strongly believe Student Council is the backbone for a properly functioning school as they are the intermediary for the students and the administration. This kind of responsibility and position for change is definitely something I want to commit to. I believe my creativity, hardworking, and people skills will help me excel in any task I am assigned, while contributing valuable ideas and outlooks to the Council as a whole.
These range from the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Beta Club. These clubs have given me the opportunity to practice my leadership by chairing service projects and contributing my ideas to better the school and the community. They have also allowed me to serve others through tutoring, donating, and
I have served in leadership roles as National Honor Society Vice President, Mu Alpha Theta First Vice President, and a Student Leadership Member. I have also traveled to the Texas State Capitol to learn about leadership, government, and the history of Texas from Texas State Representative Cecil Bell Jr.. Furthermore, I have coordinated a banquet and organized a school assembly which registered voting age seniors to vote in the US Presidential Election, and will now serve as an example for other schools in the region. All of these experiences have fostered my growth as a leader, and I would be able and willing to provide guidance and leadership within the community in various ways. I am interested in joining various organizations and volunteering as well as giving my time to help my peers individually.
