The Beauty of both Romantic Era and Victorian Era The writer Burke describes beauty as “qualities in bodies” which I learn that our bodies gives a sense of joy and pleasure for one another. It is that pleasure and joy we seek are the desires or lust that becomes a “tempestuous passion” (Burke, On the Sublime and Beautiful). Beauty is not just defined as just materialistic, but as the way each connected with creation of once life. Beauty is anything that thrives individual feelings of affection towards which they seeming as beautiful. The affectionate feeling is what he later describes as “love”. However, Elizabeth describes beauty through her love for her significant other. “I love thee to the depth and breadth and height” …show more content…
If a woman were to look upon a woman, they would only see their beauty through fashion and the way she takes care of herself through her values and standards. Male will not fully understand a woman’s worth, but will pursue their intimacy reasons which are having great passion of love focused on their desires to have sex. Elizabeth, “I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life;” which that her love is present in every breath that she takes. This means she loves to love. Her love comes from all her smiles and tears, this shows that she loves her soul mate through both good and trying times. Beauty is reflected in what a women’s worth, both their past and present. I chose these two different insights from both writers as a relation to our days. Both writers define something beautiful when they feel very passionate or love towards something or someone and doesn’t matter how it may appear to another person. People can automatically refer to beauty as fitness and utility. Fat is ugly and skinny with fair skin is beautiful. People buy pricey items or any accessory goods that they desire to cover their true self to them is beautiful. Beauty describes by both writer isn’t perfect or imperfect, but what an individual feel about themselves and towards
Early on, Elizabeth is confronted with the issue of a struggling marriage. She and her husband John find that their relationship is rather strained because Elizabeth
This line shows Elizabeth’s inner vulnerability and inquiry about herself. Elizabeth shows that deep within herself she knew all along that John’s affair with Abigail wasn’t completely his fault. She does not just blame him for their marriage going wrong as she seemed to do earlier in the play, but instead she admits she is also capable of self-criticism. This realization helps Elizabeth forgive John, and renouncing her anger seems to bring her the feeling of personal peace. Her loyalty and real love for John are more evident than in this scene than in the entire play.
Elizabeth is a strong woman who stands by her belief and refuses to lie about her husbands affair. She is shown as a very moral woman who is the complete opposite of Abigail. She is shown as a woman who values honesty over her reputation. This is seen in the following quote "Hale Woman plead with him! It is pride it is vanity.

Not Just a Bowl Beauty is one of the main foci in society today where selfies, beauty enhancement or plastic surgery, celebrities, and the media reign over society—constantly defining what people should aim for in terms of appearance. Appearances are everything to many people rather than inner beauty such as character and values. In turn, this beauty-obsessed world has led to people becoming more shallow, superficial, and unaccepting towards anything besides the “norm.” It is quite ironic to have a “norm” considering how each individual is different and live in different cultures and such. People are not meant to be or look the same neither should they adhere to a certain standard in which someone else has established.
At the start of the story, Elizabeth is shown as a vibrant and clever woman young lady who makes snap judgments about people based on initial impressions. Despite her wit and charm, Elizabeth is frequently impetuous and lacks maturity and thoughtfulness. She is a product of her culture and its expectations, and while she may be dissatisfied with the constraints put on her as a woman, she is nevertheless constrained by her assumptions and
Creating a scenario in which the more beautiful and young a character is, the innocent and caring they must be. When we are first introduced to Elizabeth, Victor begins to first describe her beauty in relation to her being, “Her person was the image of her mind... she appeared the most fragile creature in the world... everyone adored Elizabeth” (Shelley 66). Through her beauty and youth, Elizabeth is seen as fragile, kind and easy to approach.
12 February, 2018 Influence on Elizabeth Over the course of life, dozens of people can help shape and influence the way one acts, present themselves, and thinks of themselves as well as others. In the novel Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet’s friends, family, and other acquaintances sculpt the way she lives her life. The people who have the greatest impact on Elizabeth challenge her to think, feel, and trust in a brand new way.
When one first meet her, one has to admit, first thing they notice is her looks. Right? “wow she have it all” or maybe the opposite. Beauty for women may be easier for them, like getting out of an officer giving them a ticket or walking into a restaurant without a reservation. Beautiful women could get more smiles, more handsome men, and better treatment sometimes.
The narrator claims, that beauty is essential to give us a purpose of life. It has the ability to transform our surroundings, and get us to a higher spiritual level. He explores
Elizabeth , is an interesting , romantic , intelligent and quick-witted . This makes her highly relatable for most women reading Pride and Prejudice today . She is firm to her principles of marriage. Beauty, what comes to the mind when we hear it. For every person beauty has its own meaning and value, someone would describe it with reference to a person, other would say that he sees beauty in nature or in spirituality. Beauty has changed its meaning, coming along all these years and people have interpreted it in their own way. But today beauty holds a rather different meaning to many of us, it has been reduced to physical attributes, where it was once considered something very sacred in the ancient times. Plato, an Ancient Greek philosopher said that beauty is a visitor and is to be only contemplated and not possessed because that is how one gets to feel its true radiance .
Beauty is commonly interpreted as a characteristic element that is present in many different things. This seems to provide feelings such as happiness and satisfaction through sensory feelings such as color, shape, and personality (Rhenanus). Beauty is an art form that originated in early times. Many time periods viewed beauty in many different ways. During the middle ages, they viewed beauty as order, harmony, and mathematics (Rhenanus).
I find it difficult to define beauty due to it being all around us. You can suggest that beauty is magical, yet you can also say that beauty is ordinary. Beauty is present throughout the universe. Its presence can be found in all the colors that make up individual galaxies, up to the infinite darkness that consists of the universe. The complexity of beauty can be found in modern art, yet if you flip through the pages of a history book you can see that beauty can be traced back to the Renaissance, and as far back as prehistoric times.
