We employ technologies such as CT scanners, CEREC same-day crowns, rotary endodontic technology, digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, ultrasonic cleaning, T-scan bite analysis, DIAGNOdent, and VELscope. Read on to learn more about some of these technologies.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Plaque and calculus (hardened plaque) is traditionally removed by hand scaling them from the root and crown of the tooth. We use ultrasonic scalers to break down plaque and calculus.
Ultrasonic scalers vibrate at a frequency that breaks down bacterial cell membranes and removes both plaque and calculus. Ultrasonic scaling is generally more comfortable and efficient than hand scaling. Other advantages include decreased treatment time, better preservation of the tooth enamel, and less post-scaling sensitivity.
T-Scan III Computerized Bite Analysis
With the T-Scan analysis system, we have the ability to evaluate the balance of your bite and view it on a computer screen. The patient bites down on the sensor while the computer analyzes and displays timing and force data in full-color 3-D or 2-D

This technological development allows us to enlarge or enhance images for diagnosis, assessment, measuring, and comparison.
DIAGNOdent
Using the DIAGNOdent laser, we can detect early tooth decay. The DIAGNOdent is a pen-like probe that sends a safe, painless laser beam into the tooth and checks its health. An alarm will signal if a tooth shows signs of decay. With DIAGNOdent we can catch tooth decay in its earliest stages and handle the small cavity in a minimally invasive way. The DIAGNOdent is especially useful in detecting decay in children.
CEREC
We use the CEREC system to take digital impressions of your mouth and teeth for the creation of same-day crowns. This 3D technology creates more accurate images and eliminates the need for wax impressions.
VELscope
The VELscope is the most powerful tool available for assisting in the discovery of oral abnormalities. Using the VELscope, a wide variety of oral abnormalities, including oral cancer, can be discovered—often before they 're visible to the unassisted eye.

Beverly Jimenez, also known as, ‘Dr.Sissy’, stretches out of her petite, cozy office and steps into the ample operatory with dark orange walls and sticky purple chairs. Sounds of suction and the metal clanking of tools can be heard. She is asked to take a look at her patient's teeth whenever she is ready. She takes a seat on the low stool and opens her metal tools from their blue transparent package. She begins to examine the teeth of a young girl.
Dental trial have been extensively used in identifying the sufferers of massive disasters, such as the 9/11 bombing and the Asian tsunami. the significance of using dental records for human identification is now well predictable. Dental Biometric issues dental radiographs to identify victims in situations (e.g., fire victims) where conservative biometric features, i.e., face, fingerprint, and iris, are not available. Dental Photograph Dental photograph is a symbolic examination of teeth structure and its appearance; it gives virtual position of neighboring teeth and shapes of dental work.

If the dentist diagnoses any gum disease, our hygienists are trained to treat mild to advanced gum disease with deep cleaning using latest technology. We are able in many cases to prevent the need for gum surgery for severe cases. Our ultrasonic scalers use sound waves to remove plaque and calculus (hardened plaque) and provide a more gentle and effective treatment. The ultrasonic scaler gets down to the base of the pocket better, disinfecting the full mouth. We use Arestin® antibiotic treatment and soft-tissue lasers to eliminate remaining bacteria.

They are trained to understand the many dental issues that can arise and to be able to spot problems by looking at x-rays and other images of the mouth. Their main goal is to avoid gum disease, tooth loss, and other problems by knowing proper care to provide patients. After assessing a patient's mouth they will come up with a diagnostic of the problem with their patient. From there they will come up with a plan to treat the patient and prevent something from happening again. Whether this is from a procedure or something they do at home, their job is to educate their patients on the diagnosis.
In the assessment phase, we begin by gathering and analyzing the client's medical and dental history, medications, vital signs, extra/intraoral examination, dental charting, gingival evaluation and periodontal examinations. After the assessment phase, a dental hygiene diagnosis is made using clinical data
Endodontic therapy involves treating vital and necrotic dental pulps so that patients can retain their natural teeth in function and esthetics. A successful endodontic therapy depends on many factors, among which the most important step is canal preparation as it determines the efficacy of all subsequent procedures . Cleaning pertains to the sufficient removal of debris, bacteria and smear layer from the root canal.3 Debris is defined as dentin chips and residual vital or necrotic pulp tissue attached to the root canal wall.
The first step in the patient’s orthodontic treatment is the diagnostic records appointment. Orthodontic diagnostic records are an evaluation and diagnostic tool that the orthodontist uses to determine the patients orthodontic needs. The Diagnostic Records provides a wealth of information that is not always revealed by and is an aid to visual clinical examination. Diagnostic records are made to document the patient’s orthodontic problem and to help determine the best course of treatment. These records are also helpful in determining the progress of treatment with post-treatment records taken to evaluate the final treatment outcomes and making other treatment recommendations.
My adult supervisor had to collect the teeth, as well as sterilize and disinfect it through the process of microwave sterilization. The teeth were placed in a sterile dish and microwaved for a minute and then removed. Until experimentation, the bovine teeth were kept in a beaker of distilled water. For the experiment, each tooth was placed in an individual acrylic block and the thirty blocks were divided randomly into three groups of ten. This would be important for the shear bond strength test at the end of the experiment.
Radiographs aren 't effective in diagnosing early caries Enamel/dentin caries prevention Laser fluoride therapy Both laser and fluoride decrease ph >> thus enamel dissolute under very low ph Removal of caries By YAG laser with its antibacterial effect, decontamination of the affected layer will retain its remeneralizing potential. No smear layer>> more retention Laser on enamel before etching>> better marginal seal for composite. Advantage of caries removal by laser(2) Quite>> acceptance by patient Less need for anesthesia Selective absorption by laser for carious surface>>minimal invasive Smear layer free cavity Less thermal increase>> better for pulp chamber Macroroughned surface>> more retention composite Acid etch use can be avoided>> less leakage Disadvantages(2) Expensive High training Need for conventional handpiece to complete work Pit and fissure sealant(1) Pit and fissure sealant must prevent micro leakage so caries will not occur.
One of the most useful biomedical diagnostic imaging tool is the computed tomography (CT) scan. CT scans allow for physicians to view cross sectional images of tissues and organs using x-ray and computer technology. Physicians are able to view all major body parts to look for abnormalities using a CT scan without having to take surgical biopsies or perform exploratory surgeries. These scans can be used to diagnose cancer, heart disease, locate blood clots, and determine if internal bleeding is present among a vast array of other medical conditions (1). Although the scan generates little to no pain to the patient, the scan increases radiation-induced risks.
