How would you feel if your best friend in the entire world was to die in front of your very eyes, and there was nothing you could do about it? They were your rock, your second half, the peanut butter to your jelly, and in an instant, they just died. This is what happened to Hiro, from the movie Big Hero 6. Except it didn’t just happen once, but twice. Big Hero 6 shows the journeys encountered by this brilliant fourteen-year-old boy and his sidekick, Baymax, an inflatable health-care robot. He appears to be an average fourteen-year-old boy, which he is in a way. He is obsessed with building and competing robots, also called “Bot-Fighting”, and being just like his genius older brother, Tadashi. Hiro is convinced that he is going to make a living off of Bot-Fighting and will never have to attend college. This is his plan until Tadashi takes him on a tour of his college “Nerd Lab” to show him what he is missing out on. Tadashi brings Hiro into his personal lab and introduces him to his own invention, a healthcare robot called Baymax. Baymax is a big, marshmallow-like “healthcare companion” with a huge heart. Baymax can scan people for symptoms and is programmed with over ten thousand medical procedures. He can’t deactivate until you say you are satisfied with his care.
