The Article’s of Confederation are poor, there are differences between governments; and the country does not have a constitution. What is happening to the United States of America right now? There are multiple problems with the Article’s of Confederation.

After a fiercely fought revolution, the newly independent American nation struggled to establish a concrete government amidst an influx of opposing ideologies. Loosely tied together by the Articles of Confederation, the thirteen sovereign states were far from united. As growing schisms in American society became apparent, an array of esteemed, prominent American men united in 1787 to form the basis of the United States government: the Constitution. Among the most eminent members of this convention were Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson. These men, held to an almost godly stature, defined the future of the nation; but were their intentions as honest as they seemed?

“Why are we here?” , You might be wondering. Well, I will tell you. As my good friend and colleague, Mr. Edmund Randolph, had introduced earlier in the Convention, the situation at hand is “preventing the fulfillment of the prophecies of the American downfall.” Our mission during the duration of this Constitutional Convention is to correct any issues pertaining to the Articles of Confederation that no longer are effective in running the federal government.

Congress soon realized that the Article of Confederation wasn 't as strong of a constitution they hoped for. In fact, James Madison believed the Article was just a "rope of sand" that would hold the nation together. The nation they had passionately fought for was breaking apart due to a flimsy constitution and something had to happen before matters turn to worse. Things had to happen before anything more could become worse. In February of 1787, fifty-five delegates from twelve states of America, came together to create the new Constitution.

Following the Revolutionary War, America had just gained independance from Great Britain and needed to form a new government. The Articles of Confederation were established as an attempt to create a government that was unlike Britain’s. Unfortunately, the Articles of Confederation had several weaknesses. When in the process of repairing those weaknesses, the Federalists and the Anti-federalists formed. The Articles of Confederation were very weak as well as useless to America and because of this, the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists could not agree on a new type of government.

The new constitution, a document granting the framework for a new democratic government, replacing the Articles of the Confederation. This new document gained approval from some of the citizens, but also raised questions and concerns from others. Right now a debate is occurring about whether not we should ratify the Constitution. This is an important moment in our country's history because this is the moment where we could unify and become a government or we could disapprove of the Constitution and have troubles between the country.
