In early history, Europe was the easiest place to thrive as a community because of s superior geographic location which gives it many advantages. Europe was economically superior to some places, but others such of China were as good, or if not than even better than Europe. The location of Europe shaped its political ideas which in turn motivated it to conquer the world. Document 7 mentions that Europe had to compete with it’s neighbors when voyaging across the globe, and even before they started to expand. This could have motivated European countries to explore faster and beat out other countries. As a whole, Europe had a desire for power, which it could gain by exploring (Document 7). When the Spanish came to Mexico and South America, they spread smallpox. This lead to the death of Huanya Capac, the Incan leader, which in turn set of many wars of succession. (Document 8). Document 9 is written by Francisco Pizarro, who would naturally have a biased view towards conquering other countries, given that he is a conquistador. He talks about how his kingdom is greater than that of the people he encounters in South America (Incas). This represents some Europeans view of a desire for power and
and “why did wealth and power become distributed as they now are, rather than in some other way?” Diamond continues to try and explain the answer to Yali ’s question while asking similar questions, such as: “Why is it that europeans, despite their likely genetic disadvantage and their undoubted developmental disadvantage, ended up with much more of the cargo?” The Europeans colonized the New world rather than Native Americans colonizing Europe simply due to the European stage of development. The Europeans had military technology (guns and steel),political organization, their superior armament, knowledge of human behavior
Spain, Egland, France, and Portugal capitalized on the Americas in order to gain Imperialist growth. These countries sought imperial growth to gain riches, spread their religious beliefs, and exploit natural resources and natives.(31) A great example of how the Europeans Imperialistic growth benefited their country is Spains conquest in the early 1600's. During which time they used Native labor to mine gold and silver that filled their ships. They also sent priest to spread catholicism to their conquered Natives.
The people of Mesoamerican had many talents that for that time were very advanced. They used many tools to live but there most valuable tool was there brain. Europeans exchanged letters to the royal throne, and claimed that by accumulating new territories it would further open the possibilities, and boundaries for Europe to expand their economy. This would also include bringing light to the indigenous cultures, and helping to maintain the balance of power in Europe, all in the name of God. This of course was a cover-up to allow them to fulfill their greed, and desire for status and wealth. The Europeans had an almost legitimate reason for being able to journey into the indigenous land.
During the European Imperialism in the Americas, the Caribbean, Aztec and incas, and North America hand an influence on guns, germs, and steel which was the result of the imperialism. Guns, germs, and steel permitted Europeans to vast tracks of the globe. This started urban communities require an abundant supply of sustenance, consequently rely on upon farming. As ranchers take the necessary steps of giving sustenance, division of work permits others flexibility to seek after different capacities, for example, mining and proficiency. North America was greatly impacted by the Imperialists.
The European exploration connects with the exploration that occurred in the United States. The exploration allows new opportunities for a nation to grow and prosper and enabled the nation to progress on the living situations (finding new land-creating new houses). Christianity in Japan: In 1587, Toyatomi Hideyoshi became worried that christianity’s growing
To begin; the type of food grown on a continent affects how a civilization develops because of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs- the more nutritious food that’s easy to access, the more time available to focus on other areas to improve
European exploration had a variety of effects on history, with the majority having a positive impact, The exploration period was a crucial time in history that have greatly impacted the world as it is today. New trade routes and products were introduced, new navigational advancements were made, and very profitable trade ports were discovered, all of which have positively impacted the European and American societies. Trade was very crucial during the time of exploration. The Columbian Exchange was a trade route that allowed many new products to be introduced. As Europe recovered from the Black Death, it brought upon itself the Age of Exploration. The Age of Exploration was a time of globalization which was inspired by multiple factors. The outbreak of European exploration and conquest during the Age of Exploration was caused by Europe’s fascination with wealth, glory, and service to god. Although Europeans rose to economic leadership with the powerful link of innovation and incentives for coal, the underlying causes that created these links are acquiring efficient agriculture places as outlined by Crosby, the invisible but crucial role of mosquito immunity to Europeans argued by McNeill and the extreme climate conditions for non European nations stated Davis, that created the ultimate economic political dominance for Europeans. Although a plant such as weed could not possibly seem to contribute to the global dominance of Europeans, Crosby argues that the weed plant was a lucky imperial victory that they brought with themselves. Europeans chose where to settle in a prude way that seemed the most logical to them. Crosby argues one of the phenomenas of success is “a stunning, even awesome success of European agriculture”
During the age of imperialism Europe had a lot of advantages that lead to the success of the continent. Imperialism is when a country’s power is extended. The age of Imperialism was when new colonies were developed and expanded, this occurred during the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. During the fifteenth century, civilizations throughout the world experienced many expansions and contractions. The flourishing of new empires along with the revival of already existing societies caused many shifts in demographics, trade, communication and power worldwide. Western Europe experienced a period of rapid growth over only a few centuries as it became host to many powerful imperial states such as Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France and England, all countries that grew out of small independent feudal kingdoms. In contrast to these young radically changing states was China, which had been united and broken up many times throughout its long history. The revival under the Qing Dynasty shows the China’s imperial side as it conquers
Explorers set out to find other sources of these in demand goods (Arnold 13). Simpler goods including corn, fish and sugar also tempted Europeans to explore (Arnold 14). The consolidation/centralization also motivated Europeans to explore. Without the help of new technology, the exploration could not have been
