College is one of the most exciting yet most fearful steps in life. Wichita state university is one college that many students have seen interest in. Wichita state is a medium sized, 4 year public school. Some interesting things about Wichita state is their outstanding basketball team. Wichita state used to have a football team until a horrendous plane crash in 1970. recently Wichita State has been looking at bring back their football team. Another school students have seen interest in is the University Of Kansas. The University of Kansas medical program is ranked 46th of all the medical schools ranked. Schools push students to attend colleges in order to thrive and have a promising future so they offer students with ways to reduce tuition costs. Wichita State is approximately ” $5622 a year in state and the books are $950”. Wichita State offers students an abundance of scholarships, including Sedgwick county scholarship, International Student scholarships. Another scholarship is WSU freshman merit Scholarship, students need a 22 on act or 1100 on sat, with a 3.25 GPA and students have to be in the top 50% of their class. The presidential merit scholarship allows students to get up to $16,000 a year depending on the students act and sat scores. The University of Kansas an expensive school tuition costs start at $9,579 a year in state and $24,961 out of state, books cost around $1,080. The University of Kansas also has a variety of scholarships like the Chancellor scholarships, students need a “32 on the act or 1450 on the sat, students will also need a 3.85 GPA. If students have all of these things students could get $5,000 a year”, this is the biggest scholarship a freshmen could get” (admission.ku.edu). The next scholarship is traditions, students need a 31 on act and 1420 on sat, a 3.75 GPA, if students have all of those they could get up to $4,000 a year. Another scholarship is Crimson and Blue scholarship, students need a 28 on the act and a 1310 on the sat, with a 3.5 GPA, this will get students $2,000 a year. The next one is the Rock Chalk scholarship, students need a 25 on act and 1200 on sat, with a 3.5 GPA, this will get students about$1,000 a year. The last freshmen scholarship is the Jayhawk scholarship, students need a 24 on act and a 1160 on sat, with a 3.75 GPA, this will get students $1,000 a year. University of Kansas and Wichita State both have many scholarships to easily qualify for. Personally the University of Kansas has more scholarships but
