While the other book used is useful for providing an account of what happened at the beginning of the decade, this book is able to look at police brutality throughout the 1990s and how the earlier events impacted the later ones. Robert Baade is also a professor of economics at Lake Forest College. Both professors possess the knowledge of economics and provide credible information on how events like riots can affect an economy. • I will use this journal article to help explain how the riots affected not only the awareness of police brutality and hate crimes, but also how it affected the entire economy of Los Angeles. NPR.org is a neutral news source that provides reliable and unbiased information. • This article and website will be useful in adding views of the Rodney King riots in a form that is looking back on the event. Most of my sources are published during the 1990s, so I think this will be beneficial in adding a source that looks at the event from a different point of view instead of writing about it shortly after it occurred.
