For this report I chose to read Animal Farm by George Orwell. It is based upon how the animals of "Manor Farm" overthrew their masters because of incredible mistreatment. In this book a majority of the main characters are not people but a variety of farm animals. These animals are able to communicate using the same language which is pivotal to events leading up to the revolt. In the events that transpire shows how animals went from one terrible situation to another because of the corruption of power. This is not first book from Orwell that I have read; I am a big fan of 1984 and his depiction how propaganda leads the citizen. Synopsis A brief outline of book starts off in England on Manor Farm run by farmer Jones. The mistreatment of the setting is described old Major, a prize winning old boar, he sets the scene of harsh conditions and little food that affects all the animals of Manor Farm. He speaks passionately of a life without human tyranny and calls this dream animalism. Unfortunately old Major dies shortly after the meeting but the animals being to plot a rebellion against Jones. Out of all the farm animals the pigs are the smartest which leads them to take on the role of supervisors of the farm. Napoleon gets a taste of power and feels that pigs are above the other animals at the farm. This prompts him to steal milk, and apples that were meant for the entire farm. This causes some doubts in the farm with everything not being equal so Napoleon uses Squealer, a fellow pig who is very pervasive, to convince the other animals that the pigs are always. Later on, Jones and some his men return to take back the farm. The battle was very close but the animals managed to survive because of the strategic tactics done by Snowball.
