Andrew Jackson
There are many different reasons why andrew Jackson is my favorite president. One reason I admire Mr. jackson is that he served in the revolutionary war at the age of thirteen. Another reason I admire jackson is because he killed a man named Charles Dickens in a duel, that and he has been in over at least 5 to a 100 duels. He also took a bullet to the chest in one of his famous duels which he continued to carry with hith the rest of his life. He was also the only president to ever shut down a national bank.

national bank. As Jacksons term continued, he truly grew a desire to crush the Second Bank of the United states. Over time Jackson decided that it could not continue how it was, and that it did not want warrant reform, it must be destroyed. Jacksons reason for this conclusion was a result of his past financial problems, his views on states’ rights, and his tennesse roots. The Second Bank centralized financial might, jeopardizing economic stability; it served as a monopoly on fiscal policy, but it did not answer to anyone within the government. Above any principled concernsthe Bank became a political battle.
So now you see the reasons why I admire Andrew Jackson is because he took down the second U.S. bank because he detested paper money and believed in keeping gold and silver. He also killed a man in a duel and carried a bullet in his chest for the rest of his life. All of these reasons are why Andrew Jackson is a inspiration to
Andrew Jackson By:Tyanne Moody My opinion is that Andrew did a good thing with the Philadelphia Bankers. Because with the way that they would charge the bank if they lost and kept the money when they won. They were just keeping it to themselves and if they didn’t catch them when they did then the bank would have owned more money than they already did. Andrew was the one to save Thousands of lives by catching the bankers.
Andrew jackson was a important cotributor and one of the most influential presidents to ever serve the country. He took on the countries domestic issues and used his executive power far to its extent. Jackson effectivly evicted the native americans which stopped the conflict between the colonists. He vetoed the second bank of america, terminating the recharter bill from ever becoming a law. Also, he avoided south carolina’s seceding from the union.
Jackson developed the economy in a way that no man had too much but every man were financially stable. Jackson built new roads and made other infrastructural improvements especially in the south that were of benefit to the more working class “common man”. Jackson also introduced many Acts and Movements that would help to improve the United States and improve the lives of all US citizens. Andrew Jackson, a former orphan and a war hero, was a popular choice when he was elected seventh President of the United States in 1828. This was based on the fact that Jackson did not hail from a wealthy or “elite” background but from the working class western state of Tennessee.
Is Andrew Jackson a hero or a villain? Throughout history Jackson has been viewed as both. Some see him as a war hero and the people’s president. Others see him as a racist and a political tyrant. To me, Andrew Jackson is more of a hero.
Andrew Jackson presidency focused a lot on small government and pleasing the common man. He attempted to shut down national banks to make government smaller. Jackson also enforces things like the Indian Removal Policy, which strengthened the bond between Jackson and the common man. Jackson was the first and only president to make the country debt too. All of these impacted are government today very much as well as other governments around the world.
Andrew Jackson was one of the greatest presidents who made very difficult decisions for our country. Although his choices were not always the popular decision, he made choices that were always promoting democracy. The things that make a good democracy are: giving people a say in government, having a good leader that you can trust to make wise decisions, peace and stability between each country and other states, and having equal power in the government (checks and balances). Andrew Jackson came into office with a popular vote and great support. His supporters viewed him as a man of the people.
Brittany Randall-Neppl APUSH Period 6 Mr. Kloster 12/19/2014 Andrew Jackson: Champion of the Common Man or Tyrant Andrew Jackson was born into a common life but overcame his mediocre beginnings to become a powerful politician; in 1828 he was elected president of the United States. However, he abused this position of power and made several choices that were detrimental to the welfare and rights of the American people. Jackson implemented the spoils system on a national scale and had unofficial members of his cabinet who did not have to answer to Congress. After South Carolinians were upset by the Tariff of 1832 he was angry toward those who did not agree with it. He also destroyed the National Bank and authorized the Specie Circular.
Andrew Jackson during his time was considered a very patriotic politician he hated the rich, he hated the Indian, and loved the idea of slavery. It has been said that he grew up not educated and had a bad up bring but still managed to get to a high political suture. Jackson at one point was general and had a very decorated portfolio, which made sense he would become president, Andrew was most well know for “The Battle of New Orleans” where Andrew Jackson, prevented the British Army and General Edward Pakenham, from seizing New Orleans nearing the end of that war.
Andrew Jackson has been remembered as a ground breaking president, even being put on the $20. President Jackson was a controversial figure, doing many popular and unpopular things in his time. Although he is remembered as a hero from the war of 1812, he also caused the Trail of Tears and tried to destroy the National Bank. As a result, Jackson should not be put on the $20 bill. His actions have caused many misfortune showing that villains do exist.
He mistrusted paper money greatly, as well as believed in power to the common people. Andrew Jackson feared the Bank’s power. He was afraid of the Bank becoming stronger and lending that power to the elite without holding accountability towards them, something he believed great powers should have; accountability. Jackson specifically stated that he believed the Bank made “the rich richer and the potent more powerful.” Jackson liked the so-called farmer’s economy since it motivated people to be hardworking and independent.
Andrew Jackson was known as “Old Hickory”. He was given this nickname because he was considered “as rough as the bark on a hickory tree.” He was born on March 15, 1761 in what is present day North and South Carolina. He was born to a widowed mother who had emigrated from Ireland two year prior. During his youth he attended several different academies in the Carolinas.
He showed unifying leadership during the Nullification Crisis and the Tariff laws of 1828 and 1832, he showed a generous approach of governing through the “Kitchen Cabinet” and the “Spoils System”. Lastly, his concern for economic equality was shown through the veto of the Second Bank of the United States Recharter and his concerns for the common men. All of these qualities that Jackson had shown during his presidency are why Andrew Jackson should be remembered as a hero of the common
Andrew Jackson was the 7th President of the United States. His face appears on the $20 dollar bill but there is discussion of removing him and replacing him with another well known figure. Looking back through the history of his time did Andrew Jackson do more harm than good. He was born March 15, 1767 in a log cabin on the frontier between the Carolinas. He was a “common man” so the common folk loved him.

Jackson no doubt, was an excellent military man and leader. He had courage others dreamt of having and was also a very good outspoken speaker, not afraid to display his beliefs. Jackson became famous with his military leadership. In the war of 1812, Jackson served as major general and led the U.S. Army against the “Creek Indians”, who were allies of the British. The war was concluded after Jackson and his men (including Sam Houston & David Crockett) defeated the Creek Indians at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
