Andrew Jackson was a very controversial character and many people either loved or hated him. The colonel gave an improper command, and the strict discipline of West Point forbade any improvisation, so Jackson’s company marched off the parade ground and straight through the town. Some believe he was a great president and some believe he was the worse president.
