Daniken wrote his first book on the subject, Chariots of the Gods, in 1968 and despite all expectations it became a worldwide best seller. After meeting Daniken, Giorgio then began to study under him and was introduced to other people in the field. Today Giorgio is the Director of Daniken’s Ancient Alien Society (formerly A.A.S. To the majority of the American public, Indian Jones films are the closest they will ever get to even considering what the work of archaeologist looks like. This is too bad because the film represents a very cliché version of archaeological field work that kind of discredits the amount of time that is put into actual archaeological field work. In the film, Dr. Jones is a archaeology professor and a fearless archaeologist who travels the world attempting to protect the hidden artifacts in the world’s oldest archaeological sites. In this film he is searching for the Ark in order to prevent the Nazis from finding it first. Through action packed scenes, a love interest, and fighting evil Nazis, Jones is able to find the Ark and protect it.

In my opinion, Dope the movie has many element of Subcultural theories and Anomie theory in it. Subcultural state that people that come from run down school, poor neighborhoods and status frustration. Anomie on the other hand, interduces the idea of people accepting cultural goals but not accepting institutional mean. In short, the movie Dope is a story about a kid named Malcolm Adekanbi and is bests friends jib and diggy. The sitting for this story was in Inglewood California in a rundown neighborhood called “The Bottoms”.

In the article he touches on how he found a thrill in hunting and how he was more in touch with nature than he had ever been. But along with the pleasures that he found in hunting, he discusses the inhumanity that he felt come too. Pollan in this article wants to show the contrast between the euphoric feelings that humans feel and the darkness that some people realize that come along with harming the animals. Hunting is an activity and life skill in some cases that was necessary in the times where hunters and gatherers were prominent in the Earth.

Humans have always believed that aliens exist. Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Slaughterhouse-five or The Children’s Crusade explores a new civilization named the Tralfamadorians. Billy Pilgrim, the protagonist of this novel, describes these creatures as “two feet high, and green, and shaped like plumber's friends. […] The creatures were friendly, and they could see in four dimensions. They pitied Earthlings for being able to see only three” (26).
In the film adaptation of the novel, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, some of the original aspects that make the novel so timeless are not included in the movie. However, due to the vastly different medium that film is and the abstractness of the novel, it makes sense why some things would have to change in order for the story to transfer to the screen successfully. While many die-hard fans of the novel denounce the film version of their beloved story, others celebrate the presence of Adams’ wit in the movie especially through the cartoon representations of the guide entries. First of all, the Hitchhiker’s Guide is pictured much differently in the movie than in the novel.
The term alien no longer has the mystery and excitement and possibility behind it, rather it has become a more colloquial term in regards to disbelieve. Considering the fact that there are movies and shows about aliens, one has to wonder, where did the idea of aliens come from? For over a thousand years people have reported seeing strange objects flying in the sky. Today the unknown flying objects are know as-UFOs, that continue to visit us, on a regular basis or so some say.
