Analyzing Bill Clinton's Speech

The event that I went to was Bill Clinton’s speech for the Hillary Clinton campaign. Clinton gained attention of the audience by speaking about current events in phoenix such as the Phoenix Suns and also by talking about campaigns that are going on in the phoenix area and correlating it with Hillary Clinton’s involvement as Secretary of State. He also raised his credibility to the audience by emphasizing to the audience on how he was president and how he knows the struggle and how to solve issues. The main points emphasized during his speech were health insurance, income of people, college education, green energy/sustainability by talking about how this is creating jobs. When Clinton explained the main point, he was clear to the audience on what point he is speaking about. He did this by correlating the points to current events. An example is when Clinton was talking about money and income. When Clinton talked about income he said, “incomes are going to rise, income is not its best right now,” he followed this by …show more content…

Clinton did not use any type of visual aid during his speech. Clinton was able to make his point across to the audience without providing any visual points because I believe that Clinton was well prepared with his speech because he did very well in correlating his topics with current events and also by the use of credibility as past president. Clinton had a few nonverbally communication strategies. First, Clinton used hand gestures to enhance his suggestions and ideas. I believe he did this to make a picture to the audience in order for them to picture what he is saying in the audience’s head.
