Reading into Chapter 5 – Why Doesn’t Flow Happen on the Job, one point significantly made me think about my past employment. Csikszentmihalyi states that, “A job that employees only a fraction of one’s skills quickly becomes a burden. One feels that most of one’s potential is left unused, wasted” (pg. 94). I feel as this quote can resonate with almost everyone attempting to enter the job force. People read job descriptions and believe they have all necessary skills. Unfortunately, more times than not, once we begin those roles, it is not all what the description stated it would be.
