The Price-Anderson Nuclear Industries Indemnity Act (Price-Anderson Act) was first signed into law on September 2, 1957. The act serves as an amendment to the 1946 Atomic Energy Act (AEA), intended to stimulate development of the private nuclear industry by establishing limits of liability and indemnifying the nuclear industry against liability from a nuclear incident. Additionally provides compensation coverage for the general public in case of an incident. (Hore, 2009). The Price-Anderson Act places an increasingly disproportionate liability on the taxpayer in the event of a nuclear incident, whether accidental, from negligent or malicious acts, effectively protecting the industry regardless of fault.

In 1863 a National Bank Act was created. It was created in order to design a national banking system, send out war loans, and establish a national currency that was available to all the people. Congress believed that this new bank system would be a smart decision since it would help resolve the financial crisis during the early events of the Civil War. The South struggled with finding financial support throughout the war. Tax programs were recently not put into effect, leaving them lost.

The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act laid out the groundwork for a program designed to equip hospitals and medical practices around the country with electronic health record systems by providing financial incentives (p. 245). However, in some markets such as long-term care facilities the transition to electronic system has been slow. Professional nurses whose careers are in long-term care in our nation will play major role in getting electronic health systems into these settings.
